I've followed the instructions in this support article, and connected my Google Calendar to Amelia. All seems to be working correctly, except for one thing:
When the user makes an appointment request, the calendar event in Google Calendar does not include a Google Meet link.
I've followed the instructions in this other support article, and enabled the "Google Meet" switch in my Integration Settings. Unfortunately, this has not solved the issue -- my calendar events still do not have Google Meet links in them.
Greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me. Looking forward to working with the plugin!
1. Did you connect the Employee assigned to this Service to his/hers Google Calendar?
If you are not sure how to check this, please check our Documentation with instructions here.
2. Did you check the "Enable Google Meet" option, in Amelia settings/Integrations/Google Calendar?
If you did that, each time when a new appointment is created it will be added to the Employee’s calendar,
and optionally, if you enable the option ‘Send Event Invitation Email ‘ in Amelia your customers will automatically get an invitation from Google Calendar to add the appointment to their calendars.
Inside the Calendar Event on Google, the blue Google Meet button will be shown so that both employee and the customer can join the Meet.
just wondering if we share the same issue. The link comes up in the client's email. But it doesn't go in the calendar description. Like this image attatached...where it says:
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
We are not in the habit of answering other users questions on someone else's ticket but since it might be related this can be achieved easily like this
User or appointment details can be displayed in Google Calendar. You just need to put placeholders in Event Description filed that you can find in settings/integrations/Google Calendar
There you can choose which detail will appear in your Google Calendar.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions please reach out to us on your own new ticket.
Thank you for the credentials but we would need the URL of your site also so that we know where we need to log in. And please leave this user active for a few more day in case that we need to escalate this.
You did not set any notifications in Amelia so not notifications can be sent to you or your customers. You still have PHP mail set and not configured
Please note: We strongly recommend changing mail service setting to SMTP or Mailgun because email that is sent with PHP Mail generally gets flagged as spam by mail servers and also can take some time to send. See below how to configure SMTP and Mailgun mail services.
Try and see SMTP mail for your notifications and after that all should be working fine.
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) – Here we show how to configure the SMTP mail service for Gmail, but you can set it up for any other outgoing service that supports SMTP for a mail client. When you select this option, four inputs will appear – you need to populate them to configure SMTP properly. A Google SMTP example:
SMTP Host – smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port – 587
SMTP Secure – TLS
SMTP Username – Your Gmail address
SMTP Password – Your App password (details about setting up an app password can be found in the notice section below)
The most commonly used SMTP Ports are 465 and 587. Port 465 uses “SSL” as SMTP Secure, while port 587 uses “TLS” as SMTP Secure. Make sure to check what the correct SMTP settings are for your mailing provider.
Google SMTP (Gmail accounts):
From 30 May 2022, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password, so “Allow less secure apps” will be removed.
In order to continue using SMTP with Gmail, you will need to set up an App Password for Amelia. App Passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on. Instructions about this can be found on Google’s Documentation, here.
For detailed set-up instructions, please take a look at this article on our official support platform.
Microsoft SMTP (outlook, hotmail, live, and office365 email accounts):
If you’re having issues using SMTP with your Microsoft account, please make sure to set up an App Password for Amelia. App Passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on in the Security Basics section of your Microsoft account. Instructions about this can be found on Microsoft’s Documentation, here.
For detailed set-up instructions, please take a look at this article on our official support platform.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
Thank you, Marko -- and apologies that I missed your reply!
I'm pretty new to this stuff, so I'm curious: Would you and your team be able to walk me through this process? Happy to set up SMTP, just need a little guidance :)
No worries if not. Appreciate you getting back to me.

2. To be able to use and send Google meet you need to complete the Google synchronization with Amelia. You can follow the documentation from this link https://wpamelia.com/configuring-google-calendar/
Then you can connect the employee to a Google calendar in employee modal and you will be able to send Google meet link for each appointment. You can read more about it on this link https://wpamelia.com/google-meet/
This should helps.
Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi, I have the same problem, but the difference is that until yesterday everything worked perfectly, from today the Google Meet link is not sent in the notifications and the appointments are no longer synchronized with my Google Calendar, I don't understand how this is possible. I've been using meet and amelia dating for a year and everything was working well until yesterday
Firstly please open your own ticket when you have some questions or issues since we do not want to disturb other users that will get you questions and each of our replies.
Hope you understand.
But while we are here please check if this employee is still connected to Google calendar in employee modal and if events returned option is set to 2500 in integration settings. If this does not help please reach out to us on your ticket that you need to open and we will gladly help as always.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi Marko,
Thank you for your help. Yes, I have done both of those things, but the calendar still does not automatically include a Google Meet link.
Is there anything else we could try?
Hi Peter,
just wondering if we share the same issue. The link comes up in the client's email. But it doesn't go in the calendar description. Like this image attatached...where it says:
"Placeholder not populating here"
Is it that same issue?

Follow-up question, Marko:
My problem is not that customers aren't receiving notifications. It's that the Google Calendar event does not contain a link for video chat.
Does this solution solve that problem?
Hello Peter,
Yes, of course, we can help.
I'll keep things separate
