    Hi There,

Fantastic plugin - however, when i am using the grouping function, and linking a chart to the table, the graphs wont work and only displays one piece of data. (see pic 1 attached)

When just looking at the chart preview, it works fine (see pic 2). It is whenever it is linked to a table, and on the same page that the result are incorrect

Wanted to know why this occurs as this is the most important part of the plugin for me.

Thanks for your reply Miljko - our site is behind a firewall, are we able to do webex (at my cost) or an alternative so that I can show you?

If not, I may be able to move the plugin to a public server and put basic data in there (although that server would be slow)

Do you have any other ideas?

    Hi Chris,

Maybe a TeamViewer would be easier if you are able to install and use that software.

Other options would be to send me data from your table and screenshots or screencasts from tables and columns as well as chart settings so I could try to reproduce this problem at my local environment

    Hi Chris,

We are working  10 to 17, Monday to Friday by CET. As I can see you are 9 hours ahead. Is it possible for you to do this in next 8 hours?

I am available now, and for the next hour or so if that works?

    Hi Chris,

For some reason TeamViewer gave me this message  (attachment). Please try to investigate what is causing this because I'm not sure if I could do it in 5 minutes

I only have a free license and have not used the program before so I am not sure why that is happening?

  • [deleted] replied

    Hi Chris,

Did you logged to their site before downloading the software. I google that they served different version for logged in users which could cause this problem

    Chris replied

I did login, but I was not logged in on the actual program.

Can you retry as I am now logged in?

    Hi Chris,

First problem is not a problem actually. Chart behaves like that because you choose "Enable grouping" option in chart wizard which:

If you tick this checkbox, the values of the rows with same label will be summed up and rendered as a single series

Please try to uncheck that option.

For second problem we do have some issues with grouping option for columns so please find this file

    ../wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables/assets/js/jquery-datatables/jquery.dataTables.rowGrouping.js

and replace it with one from the attachment

Hi Miljko - I need the charts to be grouped.  I have large data sets and in the example shown, I need the dates grouped together to show trends.  Having all the dates there is not sufficient for my requirements.

Does the grouping function not work?

I have been able to use grouping on charts for very basic data, Ie, A column with names, and a column with a number.

    Hi Chris,

Do you have any dates beside "30-10-2016" in that table. Because if you don't it will show just one entry in the chart. Please try to add more than one date to see how it works.

If you do please send me your table so I can try to recreate this to see what is going on.

    Hi Again,

I have various different dates in the file, please see attached.  I have removed some sensitive information in here so this is a subset of the data we are using.

    Hi Chris,

I created a table from your data as you can see in attachemnt 1

After that I created a chart following your screencast and chart is working as it should as you can see in the attachment 2.

Please tell me do you get same chart from your table with this data

    Hi Miljko,

I am also able to produce what you have below - however, when you tick Follow table filtering, it gives the 0 result in the graphs..

Is this a JS script issue?

  • [deleted] replied

    Hi Chris,

That option was ticked when I created chart. Could you please try to recreate your problem on our

    http://sandbox.wpdatatables.com/

    user: demo

    pass: demo

so we could see if this is your setup specific?

    Chris replied

    Hi Miljko,

When I try to construct a table in your sandbox,  when choosing "I would like to read the initial table data from an input file or Google Spreadsheet" and then uploading and clicking Create the table I get:

Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

    How should I proceed?

  • [deleted] replied

    Hi Chris,

Please try to go to the "wpDataTables" page where you should find that table and procced.
