I have one unique table with many columns and a lot of data.
I want to show that table on different pages with differents settings. For exemple, in page 1, I want to show only columns A B C. In page 2, I want to see column D E F of the same big table.
Have can I define define different settings at the same time Or how can I custumize my settings to differents pages that are all appearing on my site.
You can duplicate table and like that you can preview them differently on different pages. When you duplicate you table you can leave unchecked Duplicate database table and like that plugin will create exact copy of this table which means that all changes made in one table will be reflected in all copies, otherwise if you check Duplicate database table and like plugin that will create separate database table so changing one table won't affect other copies.
If you don't want to duplicate tables and just want to hide/show other columns I can provide you little jQuery snippet that you can add on page to hide these columns.
Thanks for your reply. I would like to go with the first option (When you duplicate you table you can leave unchecked Duplicate database table and like that plugin will create exact copy of this table which means that all changes made in one table will be reflected in all copies,)
Can you tell me exactly where to find that Duplicate database table option?
First you have to click Duplicate (Screenshot 1) button and after that just click OK (Screenshot 2) without checking Duplicate database table and you will duplicate tables. Please note that if you leave unchecked Duplicate database table when you edit/delete one table, another table will be also edited/deleted.
I'm not using an excel file because I used the table constructor (I would like to read the initial table data from an input file). I don't have the Duplicate database table checkbox (screenshot). Whitout that checkbox, which option applies.
Duplicate feature with Duplicate database table option is available from version 1.7. What version of the plugin do you have installed?
Whitout that checkbox, which option applies. - Without that checkbox when you edit/delete first table, duplicated table will be also changed and vice versa.
I have Version 1.6.2 . I'm having an error when trying to update to 1.7... something like The update failed: The archive could not be installed.
Without that checkbox when you edit/delete first table, duplicated table will be also changed and vice versa. It works for me for now. But I would like to update to 1.7
I always update my plugins using wordpress (screenshot1). Do I need a different way to update wpdatatable? If so, can you tell me how? thanks for your help.
That is probably something with your WordPress settings. You can try to update it manually. First you need to download newest release from CodeCanyon and then follow these instructions how to update it manually. Just note DO NOT delete old version from WordPress page then from FTP account:

Hi camer769,
Did you try to update the plugin manually or automatically?
hi Milos,

Hi camer769,
That is probably something with your WordPress settings. You can try to update it manually. First you need to download newest release from CodeCanyon and then follow these instructions how to update it manually. Just note DO NOT delete old version from WordPress page then from FTP account:

It worked. I have the updated version with everything. Perfect support (speed, quality, precision, experience)!
Thanks Milos
