Hello,
I'm finishing configuring the recently purchased Amelia plugin, but I have some questions that I can't find in the documentation.
When a user accesses the website's frontend and fills out the appointment form, they are automatically sent an email with the appointment confirmation and another email with the link to set their password.
In that last email, prompting the user to set their password, the link to access the WordPress backend is displayed, but I'm not satisfied.
We previously installed the WPS Hide Login plugin to protect the backend access URL, but when Amelia sends the password reset email, it displays that URL.
Would it be possible to modify this URL, like WooCommerce does, and display another URL, such as My Account? If not, this would be a problem for us.
If this URL can't be modified, could access to the backend be disabled for Amelia customers? Although I assume the latter means users won't be able to modify or cancel their appointments.
I look forward to your prompt response, and I send you my warmest regards. Thank you.
Hi again,
I achieved what I wanted by disabling the option to automatically create the Amelia client user. This way, the user account isn't created in WordPress, and therefore, the backend access URL isn't sent in the email.
Then, to provide user access, I added a client dashboard on a page where the user enters their email address and receives a link in their inbox, without requiring passwords.
I like Amelia better now. Do you think this configuration is correct, or do you recommend another one?
Best regards.
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to us. There is nothing wrong with this configuration. By default, Amelia creates a new Amelia customer if the user is not already registered. However, if you enable the WordPress user option, it will also create a WordPress user assigned to the Amelia customer.
The WordPress password change email is always sent by WordPress itself. Since this isn’t a feature controlled by Amelia, we are unsure if there is an option to customize that email. We have found third-party plugins that can disable this email, and since you have disabled that option, there is no need to install it.
I hope it helps.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov
