Hello there,
Amelia is doing something very strange. My customers who book events through Amelia were not getting their confirmation emails, so I looked at my sendlayer account to see where the emails were going.
All of the customer emails are going to one person. This person booked a tour with me in March, and for some reason all emails go to him. When I look at the customers list in Amelia, everyone's email addresses are correct and individual, but yet the email sends to this one person.
When I search this one persons name in my woo commerce orders, they appear once for the on time they booked, when I find them in the customer list in Amelia, it says they booked 17 times. This seems like a big error to me.
The same thing happened to me a few months ago and I fixed it by deleting the customer who was receiving the emails from the Amelia customer list, I have done the same now so we will see but I reckon it will come back as it did before.
Can you please look and advise, is this a bug or can something be done?
Thanks
Dan
Hello again,
We went on your site and we booked an event and we got the notification straight away
As far as we can see notifications are sent to customers and received so everything is looking good and we do not see any issues.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
Kind Regards,
Marko Davidovic

Hello Marko,
Thanks for getting back to me. I can also make a test booking like this and everything works ok, this error is happening in a very specific situation. Sorry for not being more clear in my original message, I had been trying to figure this out myself for hours and was quite tired.
My company is partnered with various hotels and this site is for their desk staff to book customers onto our tours. The bookings are made from the same computer at the hotel reception desk on behalf of customers. When I make a test booking myself, just as you have here, it works fine. But bookings from this hotel are creating this error. I don't know if this is Amelia somehow identifying that the IP address is the same and getting it's wires crossed, but when this particular hotel makes a booking, the customers data in woo commerce orders and Amelia Customers list is correct, the right phone number and right email, but the email gets sent to one particular customer over and over again, and in the customer list that customer has many different visits attributed to them even though this does not match woo comerce orders, or our bookings data base.
As I said I have deleted the customer who was receiving these emails from the list and the last time this happened that fixed it for a while but I do think this is a bug and the problem will come back. I have Amelia set not to create Amelia customers on booking, so it's not that. If you could advise on what the problem could be with this new information that would be great.
Thanks very much
Dan
Hello Daniel,
Thank you for the detailed explanation — that really helps narrow things down.
Just to clarify one point: when the hotel staff are making these bookings, are they logged into WordPress at the time? If so, it’s possible that Amelia is linking the bookings to the logged-in user, which could explain why the same customer keeps receiving the emails.
Looking forward to your reply so we can investigate further.
Kind Regards,
Uros Jovanovic

Hello Uroš,
No they are not logged into this website at all. And the person that the emails were being sent to was a previous customer. As I said this happened once before and the customer got in touch to let us know that they were receiving dozens of emails with bookings for other people. I think we caught it earlier this time, and deleting that customer from Amelias customer list seems to have fixed the problem for now, but I have no reason to believe this won't happen again if we can't figure out what is causing it.
Thanks very much
Dan
,
Hello Daniel,
Thank you for the update on this.
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Kind Regards,

Hi there,
Since this platform will no longer work from tomorrow, do I have to open a new ticket or can I use this ticket number on the new platform?
Thanks
