Waitlist not working

    Hello Amelia team,

we are currently experiencing a problem with the event waitlist feature in Amelia (latest version, Pro license). The waitlist does not show up on the frontend when an event is full, and we still receive the notification warning:

“⚠ You must set up a waitlist notification.”

Here’s what we’ve already done and confirmed:

    1. Waitlist enabled globally:

Under Settings > Appointments and Events > Events we’ve activated the “Enable Waitlist” option.

    2. Waitlist enabled per event:

Each event has the waitlist individually enabled (including setting a maximum waitlist capacity, e.g. 9).

    3. Employees assigned to event:

Each event has an employee properly assigned.

    4. Notification created:

We have created and saved the “Waitlist for Events” email notification (under Email Notifications → Event Notifications).

    • The notification appears in the list

    • It is saved with content

    • The checkbox is active

✅ So we believe it’s fully functional.

    1. Still, the warning remains active:

In Settings > Events, the warning to “set up waitlist notification” does not go away.

    2. On the frontend:

When the event is fully booked, the other events go grey, but no waitlist form appears for the full event.

    3. We also checked:

    • All notifications are saved in Email Notifications, not SMS/WhatsApp.

    • We’ve tried creating and deleting the notification again.

    • We tested in incognito mode.

    • Notifications for other events (booking confirmation, reminder etc.) work fine, so email delivery is not the issue.

📌 We suspect one of the following:

    – A bug in the detection of the notification

    – The waitlist form doesn’t render properly in the frontend

    – Some unknown setting prevents proper activation

We would greatly appreciate help. We are launching several workshops and would like to offer a seamless waitlist experience 🙏

    Thanks so much in advance!

    Best regards

Leonie (on behalf of Claudia Kaiser)

    Hi Leonie,

Thanks for reaching out to us. This is not a bug nor a warning, just a message / reminder that you need to configure the notification template in order to send a waiting list notification. You are using old booking form, it wont work, because the waiting list is created for new booking form (event list).

As you already troubleshooter, the waiting list option should be enabled in event settings, for each event separately and it will be only available when the event maximum capacity is reached.

Feel free to try it out with the new booking from and let me know if it works.

    Kind Regards,

    Stefan Petrov
