We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Hello Amelia Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to report a recurring issue I’ve been experiencing with the Amelia plugin on my website over the past month.
Despite having events correctly configured to require a deposit payment at the time of booking, the system inconsistently bypasses this step. In several cases, customers have been able to complete their bookings without being charged the deposit. This is causing significant disruption to my business operations, as it results in unpaid bookings and no-shows for my workshops, ultimately leading to a loss of income and planning complications.
To help you investigate, I will attach:
Screenshots of the event settings showing the deposit requirement is enabled
Confirmation emails received by customers where no payment was processed
A few examples of bookings that went through without the deposit being charged
I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter, as it is affecting the reliability of the booking process for both my business and my customers.
Please let me know if you need access credentials or any further details to assist in resolving this issue.
Warm regards,
Roberto Giammellucca

Hi Roberto,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
In the first screenshot, the payment type is "on-site." The deposit option only works with online payment methods, so if a customer selects the "on-site" payment method, they would either pay the full amount or can book for free (depending on the price configured).
However, looking at your booking form and selecting the same event from the screenshot, I can see that the deposit option is loaded. Notice that it says "Paying now: AU$49.00."
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

Hey Roberto,
I also noticed that the "on-site" payment method is not listed on the event list booking form. However, to properly test the deposit option, I would need the WP admin credentials. I can test it using my test API keys (Stripe or PayPal).
Also, Amelia won’t ask for credit card details if the pricing is set to 0 (free). In any other case where the price is more than 0 and a payment method is enabled, Amelia will always ask for credit card details. If you can provide the WP admin credentials, I can log in and take a closer look.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

Hi Roberto,
Thanks, I've received your email. However, I'm not able to access the WordPress backend for some reason. The usual procedure isn't working. Is there any other website URL I should try, or should I try this one - https://thesourdoughscience.com/?

Hi Stefan,
Thank you for looking into the issue.
Could you please clarify—does your message mean you couldn’t find any problem? Did you try replicating it multiple times, using different devices or browsers?
As mentioned, this issue has occurred multiple times already. While I’ve received two new bookings where the deposit was successfully charged, this doesn’t guarantee it will work every time, as the error seems to happen randomly.
Is there anything else you can do to investigate or help resolve this? Or should I just wait and risk losing more customers?
Looking forward to your support.
Best regards,
Roberto Giammellucca
Hi Roberto,
That's correct. As per my previous test, I wasn't able to reproduce the issue you've reported. It's difficult to replicate an issue that occurs occasionally (not always). I performed a few tests using different browsers as well. Each time, Amelia shows the amount to be paid in advance (deposit), and then it's reflected in the Finance section, where you can see the remaining amount due. I'm not sure if this could be related to the payment method, but I tested Stripe, and it worked properly.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

Hi Roberto,
Apologies for the delayed response. Please note that we had an Easter holiday break, as mentioned on our website—you likely received a notification as well.
Regarding the previous test, I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue you mentioned. However, if you can provide access to a staging website, I’ll forward the use case to our developers for further troubleshooting.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, after weeks of back-and-forth and repeated issues that have directly impacted my business, I’ve lost trust in the reliability of Amelia and the support provided.
I’ve already spent too much time trying to get this resolved, and your team’s inability to replicate the issue — despite the clear evidence and examples I’ve sent — has left me no choice but to move on.
You’ve earned a 1-star review and lost a customer. I truly hope you improve your support process for the sake of others still relying on your platform.
Good luck.
Roberto
Hi Roberto,
I'm really sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with our support. As I mentioned earlier, we had an Easter holiday break from Friday through Tuesday, which caused a longer delay than usual—my sincere apologies for that.
We completely understand your concern and the issue you've reported. As previously requested, access to a staging site would be the best way.. This would allow me to escalate the use case to our developers for troubleshooting.
Thank you for your understanding, looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov
