I've connected google calendar. Sometimes I get an email notification about conflicting appointments. The system books appointments even if they are blocked in google calendar.
Are those appointments booked for the same employee who is assigned to Google Calendar? Have you increased the "maximum number of events" in Google Calendar? If the employee is assigned to Google Calendar and the timeslot is booked as "busy", the same timeslot wont be available at all for booking in Amelia.
That's certainly possible, but we can easily check this by having an employee connected to Google Calendar with the appointment set as "busy." Then, we can see if the same time slot is available on the booking form. If you'd like me to test this, feel free to provide WP admin credentials.

In settings
Allow booking above maximum capacity is disabled.

yew, it's for the same employee.
it's true that the same timeslot isn't be available at all for booking, that's why I was puzzled.
could it be that the appointment was booked before the plugin had a chance to sync with google?
