I have a question regarding security. We’re experiencing an issue where someone repeatedly makes fake reservations using invented names and email addresses (reCAPTCHA is active and working, so the names are likely being entered by a person).
In short, it seems that someone is creating multiple bookings for the same clinic using different names, phone numbers, and email addresses. How can we protect against this kind of misuse?
I’d like to secure Amelia against such actions. What do you recommend based on your experience? Please note that the following options are not viable for us:
Nurses manually confirming each appointment (they need bookings to be confirmed automatically).
Requiring client registration in Amelia before booking.
I’d appreciate any other solutions or suggestions you might have to help mitigate this issue.
Unfortunately, there is no way to fully protect yourself from this. The only available option is protection against bots, which can be achieved using reCAPTCHA. However, as far as we know, there is no plugin that can prevent malicious users from intentionally making false bookings by real people. Unfortunately, there is simply no existing protection against this.
We are truly sorry that you are experiencing this, but regrettably, this is not something we can assist with.
Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly ask you to open a separate ticket for each question, and we will gladly assist you.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
Would it be possible to solve this with a plugin that requires SMS verification? After confirming and entering the code from the SMS message, the reservation could then be created.
Unfortunately, currently this feature is not available in Amelia. We do not have any such feature and since we do not have this option developed or any integration with such plugin this will not be possible to setup in Amelia.
In light of this, we encourage you to kindly consider submitting this valuable suggestion as a feature request through the following link: https://features.wpamelia.com/. The prioritization of feature development is greatly influenced by the number of customer requests received. By participating and expressing your support, you contribute significantly to the potential expedited implementation of this feature.
Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
We are not familiar with to be honest but thank you for sharing this with Filip and us. Hopefully, this can help prevent fake submissions to either users as well.

CleanTalk should help prevent the fake submissions. We've had much better results with this than with any Captcha service across all our sites
