Is there a way to speed up amelia module ? As you can see amelia is taking 20% of the loading weight out of the landing page when the module itself is a tiny part of the whole page

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The slow load can be caused by a lot of things - the number of appointments you have, the number of customers, the number of employees, etc.

    -

As for the speed of Amelia itself, we cannot influence it because Amelia is not SaaS and the speed of your site and Amelia depends on the package you have with your hosting provider.

    -

This is related to your package with your hosting provider because each page opens and loads for a very long time. Neither of these two issues is related to Amelia.

It could be caused by the amount of other data you have on the page.

Can you increase the php_memory_limit on your site?

If you're not sure how to do that, you can reach out to your hosting provider.

Please check out our demo sites (link) and see how the plugin should behave on a site with dedicated hosting and good server performance.

Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

    Kind Regards,

    hi,

The loading time is way faster when amelia isn’t present on the page and the screenshot I provided shows that amelia is slow to download. Are you sure about what you are saying ?

    thank you

    Hello again,

Yes, we are. There is not much that we can do since as we mentioned Amelia is not SaaS so the speed depends on your hosting package.

We've had customers who used Amelia for COVID-19 vaccinations, and they worked with around 1.000 appointments per day. If you have a lot of data (services, employees, appointments, and most likely customers) combined, so if the form is not filtered (like [ameliabooking service=1] or something similar), the form loads all services and all employees. Some of our users had to increase php_memory_limit on their site to 5GB.

If you're connected to Google and/or Outlook Calendar, those are checked for availability as well. Once the service is selected, the employees are drawn and their free time slots are displayed. So, there are a few calls that pull relevant data, but that shouldn't be causing a lot of issues.

Maybe you can try increasing the timeout limit as well. Also, try enabling the "Load Entities on page load" slider in Amelia Settings/Activation. That should avoid AJAX calls for fetching entities (services, employees, locations, packages, tags) and should increase the performance.

Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.

We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

ok, thanks, I’ll try your solutions. As I après midi only worki g with events, do you have a solution to only display a limited number a event on the amelia module ? I would like to have only the four next instead of having every next event for the next 6 months ? Avoid all the page to charge (green circle) ?

    Hello again,

In general settings you have option Default items per page for Frontend

If you set this to 5 for example only 5 events will show on the front.

Changing the number of event in the front page does not change anything for the page speed because all the pages are loaded.

I’m sorry but I don’t understand why amelia is ranked heavier element to load why you’re telling me that amelia is not slowing down the page loading

hope the revolution goes well in Serbia ✊🏽

    Hello again,

The number of elements displayed per page does not affect the actual speed of the site but only determines how many items are shown at once. Amelia can slow down your site, just like any other plugin it can have an impact on performance.

We can explain why this may be happening and how Amelia operates, but ultimately, the overall speed of your website depends on various factors specific to your setup. But we cannot directly influence site speed. Slow loading times can be caused by multiple factors, such as the number of appointments, customers, and employees, among other things. As mentioned, you can also adjust settings such as memory allocation to 5GB for example, which may help improve performance.

Additionally, we offer another booking solution called Trafft, which is a SaaS product. With Trafft, all your data is stored on our servers, meaning that the speed of your website and the Trafft platform is fully managed by us.

Since Amelia runs on your own server, its performance is influenced by your hosting environment, website configuration, and overall setup. We hope this explanation clarifies things for you.

    Best regards.

so the solution you are offering me is going to another plateform to increase the speed ?

Are you abandoning the amelia project ? Did I paid for nothing ?

if the answer is no, then give me all the solution I have to increase the speed of my website on the amelia side. I ll see with my hosting plateform also but amelia should be optimize at least not for a page to take 15 seconde to charge. Isn’t?

    Hello,

We understand your concern, and we’d like to clarify a few things again.

    • Amelia itself does not dictate the speed of your website. The performance of Amelia on your site depends entirely on your hosting environment, the amount of data (appointments, customers, employees), and your hosting package.
    • We are not abandoning Amelia—on the contrary, we are actively improving it. A major backend redesign is currently in progress to enhance functionality and user experience.
    • No one suggested switching to another platform. We simply mentioned that increasing your memory allocation with your hosting provider can significantly improve performance. For example, if your site currently runs on 512MB of memory, upgrading to 2GB will help. If you have 2GB, increasing to 5GB may yield even better results.
    • Our demo sites are on shared hosting, which naturally makes them slower. This is expected behavior and does not reflect Amelia’s performance on optimized hosting environments.

We have explained multiple times that we do not control the speed of Amelia on your site. It is solely dependent on your hosting setup, the volume of data you have, and the hosting package you are using.

If you need further assistance, we kindly ask you to reach out to your hosting provider regarding memory upgrades or optimizations.

    Best regards.
