I have three tables connected to Google Sheets that were working fine until this morning, when I received the following message: "Error: wpDataTables was unable to access data. Unauthorized access. Please make the file accessible."
I have tried reconnecting and recreating the tables, but the same error persists. Can you advise me? I followed your step-by-step guide, and everything worked well before. Why is this error happening now?
Also, please make sure to set the "Share" to "anyone with link can view"
-
And please don't copy this link from the Publish tab, or the "Get link" tab.
-
But instead, copy the link from the direct URL of the page above, as shown :
Let me know if that helped?
If not, i can remotely take a look. If you can share access to the source spreadsheet with my Email - [email protected], I can try to link it to my Test Table to see if i reproduce the issue; and i can take a look at your WP-Admin.
Please provide me a WP-admin (administrator) user for your website where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here, just make sure to set the ticket to PRIVATE, then nobody can see them except us.
Did you guys find a solution to this problem? I have the same issue all of a sudden. I can not even edit the settings of the table on my backend. It gives me the same error as on the front end. I so I cannot even rebuild the table locally to bandaide the issue.
Google has recently updated its security policies, affecting how Google Spreadsheets connect to third-party applications.
As a result, existing spreadsheets created before this change will continue to work without issues. However, newly created Google Sheets will encounter connection errors due to these updated security protocols.
For the newly created Google Sheets with wpDataTables, you’ll need to connect your Google API service account in the plugin settings/Google Spreadsheet API settings.
You can find detailed instructions on setting up a Google API service account here.
If you need to use private sheets, refer to this guide.
Once your Google API service account is added to our plugin, you won’t need to repeat this step, and all Google Sheets functionalities will work as before.
Let me know how it goes and if you need further assistance!

Hi Jim:
currently the Dev team is investigating the issue, I hope they can reach for a solution soon, all my works stopped.
Hi guys,
Our developers isolated what happened.
