It appears that wpDataTables is not compatible with MariaDB 10.11.x. I am attempting to relocate my website from WPEngine (which is running MySQL 8.0.40) to Rocket.net. On Rocket.net, which is running that higher version of MariaDB (10.11), I receive an Error message from WPDT that "there is a problem with your SQL connection..." Further troubleshooting in the plug-in proves that if I try to access any SQL-sourced data for a given table, I receive this or a more serious error. WPEngine is using MySQL v. 8.0.40 and all is working fine there. I am using wpDataTables 7.1.1 in all cases.
