I do not understand how coupons work in the back end. I cannot add a coupon for a customer when adding them to the appointment/class if the appointment already exists.
Also, why is it that the coupon applies to everyone added via the back end? why is it not per customer? This doesn't make sense if we want one person to have a "free" class and the other people to have to pay.
On a similar note, if we give someone a coupon code and they put it in on the front end, does that make anyone else who books the class have it as well and not have to pay?
Currently, that's how the coupon system works—coupons are applied to everyone in the booking when added via the back end, and the same applies to the front end. There is no option to change this behavior at the moment.
If you need a more tailored solution, you might want to consider reaching out for custom development, as the current settings don't support individual coupon applications per customer.
oh man, that is unfortunate. so, we can't use coupons at all then.
I assume that the custom development would have a cost associated with it? If so, what kind of costs would we be looking at? The business is a very small business that doesn't have much disposable income.
It probably can be done with some custom work, but our developers are very busy at the moment, working on some priority tasks and fixing bugs and issues with our plugins, so they won't have the time for custom work in the near future.
But we can recommend this service for customization:
