Since we upgraded to 8.1 all of our custom notification templates are missing. When I try to re-create them, they appear to be there until I switch to another page such as appointments or calendar and then they are gone again. And it's not just the text of the notification, it's the whole thing so it's not related to that "grammarly" thing. I have spent the whole day trying to make new templates and have gotten no where.
Please try reinstalling Amelia to see if that resolves the issue. If the problem persists after reinstalling, please provide us with admin access so we can investigate further.
Issues like this usually occur when there is a conflict either with the theme currently active on your website, or another plugin you have installed.
Can you please change the theme and see if the issue is resolved? If not, then please deactivate all other plugins except for our plugin, refresh the page where the issue is, and see if it is resolved (it should be). If it is, then start activating other plugins one by one, and after each activation refresh the page to see if the issue reoccurred. Once it does reoccur, you will have found the plugin causing the issue.
What versions of PHP and WordPress does the latest version of Amelia require? I may have to go back to a previous version of Amelia if I can't get this to work with my website. Is it possible to get an earlier version of Amelia?
I cannot change my theme and shouldn't have to. It forms the basis of the whole WordPress website. I did however deactivate every single plugin and it still behaves the same way. I can create a new notification but as soon as I refresh the page it's gone. This wasn't working in the previous version I had either, which is why I updated to 8.1.
I think I figured out your problem. I manually went into the mySql database connected to my WordPress site and examined the wp_amelia_notifications table. It contained over 151000 records most of which do not have anything in the 'type' field. I executed the sql query "DELETE FROM wp_amelia_notifications WHERE type <> 'email' AND type <> 'sms" to remove all those records. Lo and behold when I went into the backend to view my notification templates they were all there. Somehow incomplete records are getting added to your wp_amelia_notifications table, perhaps when updating to new versions.
This seems like a very specific issue, as we haven't encountered such queries or database behavior on other Amelia installations. Were you able to fully resolve the problem after executing the query, or are you still experiencing any issues?
Yes, my problem is resolved. I do find it particularily curious though how the wp_amelia_notifications table could ever get over 151,000 records in it.
Glad to hear that your issue is resolved! As for the wp_amelia_notifications table reaching 151,000 records, that is quite unusual. Identifying the exact cause would require extensive troubleshooting, including checking notification settings, cron jobs, and database activity over time.
If you notice any recurring issues or performance concerns, feel free to reach out!
