I am interested in purchasing wpDataTables for my website, but I need to confirm if it supports importing and displaying large engineering tables from Excel files.
My tables contain over 2000+ rows and include multiple hierarchical values.
The formatting is quite complex, as shown in the attached screenshot.
I need an easy way to import them directly from Excel without manual adjustments.
You can see an example of the type of tables I need to display here: 🔗 Global Fastener Table
Does wpDataTables support this type of structured engineering tables? If so:
Does the core plugin support it, or do I need to purchase additional add-ons?
If add-ons are required, which specific ones do I need and how much do they cost?
Looking forward to your response. If everything works, I will proceed with the purchase.
If I see correctly, one of the main points for this type of table is to have merged cells? If so, unfortunately, we don't support any merged cells for tables which have a data source, such as Excel.
So, if having those merged cells is crucial, something like this is not possible with our current built-in capabilities.
1. The only Table type that can do merged cells at the moment is our Simple Table type.
It has some unique features which other tables don't,
such as merged cells, reordering rows by "click+drag" and other features;
but on the other hand, it also has various limitations such as :
2. For all other table types, such as linked to data source, or Manual , or SQL Query based, for them it is not currently possible to get merged cells.
We have a number of users who requested it, so we plan to work on that. IÂ just can't say an ETA on it.
 to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there,  and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
You can certainly test our Plugin before purchase on our Demo Site and see if you can perhaps work around this limitation.

It has some unique features which other tables don't,
such as merged cells, reordering rows by "click+drag" and other features;
but on the other hand, it also has various limitations such as :
It can't be linked to any kind of data source,
it can't be filtered, searched, etc.
You can see more about Simple tables here.
