I've been reading through some articles and I'm not sure if a blocking feature is in the works?
The option of creating a special day for opening hours is out of the question for me. That would be hours of work to create.
For example: On many days I have doctor's appointments or external appointments. So I should create 100 different days with special opening hours. Or if I spontaneously have an appointment away from home. And then it's only a matter of 1-2 hours that I would have to block briefly.
It would be extremely helpful and in my opinion an enrichment for the entire plugin when I read through the articles.
I have 4 different “employees” actually devices that I operate. So I can't just block the employee. I would have to do this 4 times for each one.
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’m not sure I completely understand your request. When you say "blocking," are you referring to blocking the option to book a particular timeslot, or are you referring to blocking employee work hours/availability?
From what I understand, it seems like you're looking to block a specific period of the day for bookings. If that’s the case, unfortunately, this won’t work with special days. However, you can use the Breaks feature or possibly sync with Google Calendar for this purpose. In the employee work hours settings, you’ll find a plus icon in the upper right corner. Once you click on it, you’ll see the option to configure Breaks.
Thank you very much for your feedback! And I apologize for my poor description.
I run a studio on my own with 4 different devices that I can book at the same time. And so that all 4 services can be booked at the same time, I have created the 4 devices as employees. Although, as I said, I work alone. Since it is not possible with resources, or I did not understand it, if it should be possible.
So if I have an appointment on one day, I want to block 1-2 hours for all devices. So that no one can book in for this time. Currently I would then have to either: 1. block the time for each individual device and each time (Which could perhaps be solved with a selection option, as in the screenshot). 2. make it impossible to book for all devices with special opening hours for the Company.
My wish is, for example, that I can simply enter e.g. on Friday at 13:00 - 14:00 all devices are blocked. And maybe I also have an appointment myself at 16:00 where I would also like to block 1.5 hours. And with “Breaks” I would have to block all 4 devices individually each time.
I currently have a lot of changes and therefore block special times every day. Blocking the time for each device individually takes an incredible amount of time. And that itself would do it with special opening times. So my idea would be to simply have a block function for everything and everyone.
Thanks for the explanation. Unfortunately, the only solution would be to manually configure each employee’s work hours, as there is no option to select all employees at once for this setting. Since each employee is assigned to a different service, they are considered separate options.
One possible workaround is to block time slots using the Google Calendar integration. You can connect all employees to the same Google Calendar, which would then share availability across all of them. Essentially, when you add a timeslot to Google Calendar and mark it as "busy," it will be reflected for all employees because they are linked to the same calendar.
In any other case, I believe you would need to configure it manually.
You can also suggest it yourself (this feature or any other feature that you think should be useful) on our feature suggestion page.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

Many thanks in advance
It would be incredibly convenient if you could simply select which “employee” should be blocked.
Like in this example of my previous booking tool.
I hope you understand my feedback/wishes as an improvement of your plugin and not criticism.

Hello Stefan,
Thank you very much for your feedback!

I hope that my “problem” is clearer.

And to my question:
Are you planning to add a block function or the possibility to select all employees?
Or would you add it to your list of suggestions for improvement?
I would very much welcome it if Amelia became an even better booking tool.
Thank you very much for your time and commitment.

Thank you very much!
I didn't know that there was such a page for improvements to Amelia.
We can close this Ticket now. Thank you! :)
