When you attempt to access the Custom Fields tab, do you see any errors in the browser console? You can check this by pressing F12 > Console tab in Chrome. If there are any errors, please share a screenshot or the exact message.
Additionally, I recommend reinstalling the plugin to ensure there are no corrupted files. You can do this by:
Deactivating and deleting the current version.
Downloading the latest version from your account.
Reinstalling and activating it.
If the issue persists after reinstalling, please provide me with admin access so I can investigate
Issues like this usually occur when there is a conflict either with the theme currently active on your website, or another plugin you have installed.
Can you please change the theme and see if the issue is resolved? If not, then please deactivate all other plugins except for our plugin, refresh the page where the issue is, and see if it is resolved (it should be). If it is, then start activating other plugins one by one, and after each activation refresh the page to see if the issue reoccurred. Once it does reoccur, you will have found the plugin causing the issue.
The "Sorry, You Are Not Allowed to Access This Page" error usually displays when you are trying to see a page in your WordPress dashboard that your user role doesn’t have permission to access. However, there are quite a few reasons why the error might occur even when you are supposed to have access to the page in question.
Please check the following article for more information on the error itself and some useful suggestions on how you can prevent this from happening:
- Corrected your file/folder permissions as it is highly likely the issue was related to permissions; - Checked your .htaccess file for any restrictive or unnecessary rules and there are none; - Checked your WordPress application's Error Logs and no related entries have been recorded;
Additionally, I flushed all caches and tried different PHP versions but unfortunately this did not help either.
I was unable to find anything on the server-side that could be causing the reported behaviour. While replicating the issue no entries are recorded in the Apache error log or the Nginx log. No mod_security rules are triggered either.
With that being said, it appears that the issue is likely related to the application itself or a particular plugin/feature/function.
After our server dev response I have created a staging site. I disabled all plugins and changed the theme to TWENTY TWENTY FIVE. The only plugin still active on the site is Amelia and I am still having the same issue.
Based on the issue you're experiencing, I recommend updating the Amelia plugin to the latest version (8.1) to ensure compatibility and resolve any potential bugs.
Please check if updating the plugin resolves the error. If the issue persists, feel free to reach out again, and we can explore further troubleshooting steps.
Thanks for the update! We’ll continue testing this further to better understand the issue and find a solution. In the meantime, since it’s working with Firefox, would you be able to use that as a temporary workaround? I understand this isn’t ideal, but it will help ensure continued access while we investigate.
Please let us know if you notice any other details that might help us pinpoint the cause.
In the admin area. When attempt to access CUSTOM FIELDS tab the browser times out and goes to an error screen with error 5.
I can access all other areas just fine.
I cleared cache

I have been working with our hosting site. This is their response.

Yes, already updated the plugin to the current version and it did not fix the issue.
Also, I was able to get it to work with Firefox.
Still does not work with Chrome (latest version) or Safari (latest version)
