I hope you’re doing well. I’m looking for a way to request recurring events via the API while also requesting them to a for a specific location. However, I haven’t found clear documentation on whether this is currently possible.
Could you clarify:
Is there a way to request related recurring events through the API? If so, what’s the recommended approach?
Can we request a location to these recurring events via the API? If not, is there a workaround?
This functionality is crucial for automating event management and ensuring a smoother booking experience. If it’s not currently supported, are there any plans to introduce it in a future update?
The available API endpoint can be found on this link, however, we currently do have the API endpoint specifically for recurring events. However, i will double check with developers if there is a workaround and i will let you know as soon as i have feedback.
Apologies for the delayed answer. Can you specify at which moment you need recurring events? For example, when your customer books an event, do you want to retrieve all recurring events for that event, or is it part of a different flow? This will help us check if it’s possible.
Since Amelia creates separate events for each weekday, we found its recurring event system impractical. Instead, we now add the service name as a WordPress post tag and filter events that way.
To improve this, we’d love to see: 1. API filtering by tags (/events?tags=) to avoid fetching everything. 2. Multi-day event support, so users don’t need separate events per weekday. 3 Better parent-child linking, so we can fetch all occurrences of an event easily (/events?eventGroup or parentId= )
Right now, we solve this with WP tags, but built-in support would be much better. Is this something Amelia plans to improve?
However, the option in the third topic is not available currently. It has been noted and will be implemented in one of our future updates, but we don't have ETA at this moment.
I have tested two of the recurring event settings:
Weekly
Every 1 weeks – Enables events, e.g., every Saturday.
However, if you need events on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday every week, you have to create three separate events with the same name. This results in three different parent IDs, which is why we used tags. However, as far as I can see, the API does not support retrieving events by tag.
Additionally, the monthly recurrence setting adds specific dates rather than repeating based on day names when multiple dates are added.
That's correct. Unfortunately, when creating a recurring event, the events repeat based on the selected configuration. If set to weekly, Amelia will create an event that repeats on the same day each week. Currently, there isn’t an option to configure multiple days within the same recurring event, so you would need to set up separate events and configure them to repeat on other days (e.g., Saturday, Sunday, or Wednesday).
The link was actually directing to an article explaining the difference between recurring events and multi-day events, but it seems like you’re already familiar with that.
I’ll check with the developers again to see if there’s a possible workaround for this.

Hi Martin,
The first two options are already supported. You can find the Tag option in event settings.
There are two types of events - recurring and multiday. Please find more information in this article - https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com//article/17676
However, the option in the third topic is not available currently. It has been noted and will be implemented in one of our future updates, but we don't have ETA at this moment.
