Under services, is there any way to set just one increment per day? I see where to adjust from 1 minute to 24 hours based on a logical division of a 24-hour clock.
But our tours run seven hours (not eight hours) once per day. And start time is at 9 a.m.
I can only seem to adjust increments to be eight hours per day… and the start time defaults to 8 a.m.
This depends on the default timeslot step in General settings. By default, this is configured to 30 minutes, but you change the increments there.
For the event start time, you just need to configure it event settings and make sure that you have the correct timezone configuration. It needs to be configured to the nearest city in your timezone (in case you haven't configured this already).
But, there is no need to set the default timeslot to 7 hours, if you configure the default timeslot step to 30 minutes for example, simply configure the event date and time according to your needs. You would have the increments of 30 minutes, shown like this
Well, there are two types of events - multi day and recurring events.
Recurring Events:
Think of recurring events as a lecture. For example, you have an event called "Evolution 101" which is a recurring event that recurs every week, on Mondays, from 10:00 - 14:00. Every week, the "Staff" (employee) provides the same lecture, so there'd be no reason why a single customer would want to book the same lecture for X number of weeks (because it is the same lecture every week).
Because of this, every recurring event is considered a separate event, and when a customer books one event, they are not automatically added to all recurring events.
Multi-Day Events:
You can create an event that spans between Monday and Friday, or that includes multiple dates (November 23rd, then November 25th, then December 12th, then January 2nd, and so on). Think of this as a course that either offers different content on every date, or it continues from the last date. For example, a multi-day event that happens on November 22nd, November 29th, December 6th, December 13th, and December 20th is a 5-class CSS course. On November 22nd, you'd learn basics, on November 29th, you'd move to another stage, on December 6th - to another stage, and finally, on December 20th, you'd complete the course.
A customer would book this event to register for the CSS course, and they would automatically be assigned to all 5 dates within this one event.
You just have to decide which one suits your needs.
I think I understand the default time slot concept OK. Perhaps the challenge is we're trying to set up both Events and Services using the same defaults?
Thanks for the video—now I understand better. Let me try to explain.
The default timeslot settings apply to both services and events. In other words, this configuration determines the increments available when setting up durations. However, services and events are distinct features, and their configurations are not exactly the same.
For example, if you set the default timeslot step to 1 hour, you can configure both service and event durations without a strict limit of 8 hours or so. However, services function slightly differently.
When selecting a service, the available timeslots depend primarily on the employee's working hours and the service duration. For instance, if you set the service duration to 1 hour and the employee's working hours are 8 AM to 4 PM, the available timeslots would be 8 AM - 9 AM, 9 AM - 10 AM, and so on. To allow an 8-hour service duration, make sure that the duration is configured to 8 and that the employee can cover the whole duration.
Amelia calculates how many times an employee can fit the full service duration within their working hours. I hope this makes sense.
Thanks... your description aligns with what I thought I was doing. It seemed when I changed the default time slots to 1 hour, the system created multiple choices for individual events regardless of the employee working hours. But the system did work as you explained for services. Basically I had to set 8 hour time slots to make the event side work.
But I'll keep playing with it. Right now we have it in place that's acceptable.
Want to remove the filter bar. Documentation said this is under the general settings, but I'm not seeing it.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for reaching out. You can find this option in the Customize section, where all booking customization settings are located.
To access it, click on Customize, then select Event List. In the first step, click on Options, and you’ll find the setting you’re looking for.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Petrov

So, there's no way to set the default time slot to 7 hours, correct?
The closest would be 8 hours. Which also means the start times are limited to every eight hours if I understand correctly.

Yes, I tried this... the dilemma (I think) is we want to limit an event option to 1 event per day that last seven hours.
If I set the default, say, to 1 hour, it'll show multiple events happening that day even if I set up the event settings to 7 hours.
But, again, I might be missing something.
