Unfortunatelly that's correct, the changes would be lost after the update, if you edit them with the CSS / JS scripts. The customer panel v2 is already released, you can select this booking form in Customize settings. All changes made here wont be deleted after the update. We are currently working on the employee panel v2 for the next update, so this will be also possible to edit through the Customize section.
Just to confirm - in v2 panels, I could have my developer put some custom code (a chat feature for for employees and customers to chat to each other), and this customisation wouldn't be lost after an update? If thats the case, I look forward for the next update!
It will be lost since it's a custom solution. For example, if you add the custom JS script, CSS code to the page or similar, after the update, it will be lost. You can make a backup or simply copy the strings and paste it after the update.
Okay - sounds like the best way to deal with that scenario.
Ideally, wp-amelia would allow more customization so developres can extend functionality of the panels without it being removed after an upgrade, but I suspect you have more important things to consider. I won't add a feature suggestion, as I suspect it may not be a much requested feature.
But you suggestion makes sense, and I'll speak to my developer about it.
Hi,
I was thinking of having a developer make some custom changes to the employee and customer front end panels.
If they did, would those changes be erased after an upgrade? And if so, is there a workaround?
Thanks,
Ronnie
