When you create an event with a price, and then select the advance setting and set it to the same amount (so users are obligated to pay the entire price up front), the front-end view says:
Both appointments and events have the deposit option, however, once you enable it, there is also an option to "Allow customers to pay the whole amount".
This will basically allow customers to pay a deposit or they can pay the whole amount in advance.
If they select deposit where the pricing is 100 USD and the deposit is 50, then it will show the summary payment like this
And the customers can also choose if they want to pay the whole amount.
Thank you for the feedback. I already knew this, but I want to force customers to pay the full amount beforehand. That is why I put the total amount as the advance amount.
In your example: put $100 as the advance amount as well and disable the option 'allow customers to pay the full amount'. Then you will notice that this works, but is not displayed correctly.
Thank you for pointing this out. However, this isn’t how it was intended to work. While we’ve added the option for customers to pay the full amount in advance, it doesn’t currently force them to enter the full amount. For now, i can forward this to our developers so they can address it in a future update.
I understand thank you! While it is not designed to work like this, you make it possible in the settings, so it should be displayed correctly. If my event price is $100 and my advance is $99, it is displayed correctly, so this shouldn't be a big one.
It is however a logical feature. Some events (or courses subscriptions, appointments, lessons, ....) require a customer to pay the full amount in advance. So the option to give them the choice is not always a practical one.
I think a lot of Amelia customers could benefit from an option 'require customers to pay upfront' or a temp fix where, in case the advance amount = event amount, the paying now / paying later option are still displayed correctly.
Noted, and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We always encourage our users to report any bugs, illogical features, or suggestions for improvement to ensure the best user experience. I’ll make sure to forward this information to our developers and management team.
No problem, but i forgot to mention the changelog page. This is the page where we list all changes that are made according to the update, so feel free to check this out periodically.
Dear support,

=> this needs to be the other way around!
