I'm trying to configure Amelia to work on our use case which is a sports venue with a configurable space. The space can be used either as  bowling lanes up to x6, bowling lane and cricket pitch or two cricket pitches or a full sized futsal pitch. So far it appears all the help files and videos refer to booking out people not spaces. Is there a way to configure Amelia to support this use case?

    Hello Ruhel,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Here's how you can configure your sports venue with this feature:

    1. Set Up Resources
    • Navigate to Amelia → Settings → Resources and define the shared resources:
      • Bowling Lane (x6)
      • Cricket Pitch (x2)
      • Full-Sized Futsal Pitch
    • Specify the maximum number of units available for each resource (e.g., 6 for bowling lanes).
    2. Create Services
    • Define services for each configuration of the space:
      • Bowling Lanes (up to 6 lanes).
      • Bowling Lane + Cricket Pitch.
      • Two Cricket Pitches.
      • Full-Sized Futsal Pitch.
    • Assign the corresponding resources to each service. For example:
      • Bowling Lane + Cricket Pitch will require 1 lane and 1 pitch.
      • Full-Sized Futsal Pitch will require both pitches.
    3. Manage Resource Dependencies
    • Amelia automatically manages overlapping bookings through the resources feature. If one service uses a resource, it will block that resource from being available for another service during the same time slot.
    4. Set Employee Availability
    • Assign employees to these services as placeholders to manage operational hours and scheduling.
    5. Customer Experience
    • Customers will book services based on their needs, and Amelia will handle the resource allocation in the background, preventing conflicts.

This setup ensures smooth scheduling and optimal use of your venue. If you have additional questions or need further assistance, let me know!

    Kind Regards,

    Hello Ruhel,

    Thank you for your message!

    1. Setting pricing based on time (Off-Peak, Peak, Super Off-Peak): Currently, Amelia doesn't have a direct feature for pricing based on time periods (such as Off-Peak, Peak, or Super Off-Peak). However, a workaround could involve using different services for each time period, setting a unique price for each. You can then use a scheduling tool to define when these services are available.

    2. Setting specific services for specific times: Amelia allows you to set available hours for each service (via the service’s settings), and you can configure different employees to work at specific times. However, there is no automatic way to restrict available time slots based on time periods like Off-Peak or Peak. To work around this, you would need to manually set availability for employees or services for each desired time period.

    3. Regarding the workaround from Ticksy: It seems like the workaround you found affects the pricing in the basket. It’s possible that there’s a conflict between the service pricing and the specific configuration for the employees. If you'd like, I can help you troubleshoot this by reviewing the setup and suggesting ways to make sure the pricing matches across the system.

Please let me know how you'd like to proceed or if you'd like me to help you with the specific setup

    Kind Regards,
