We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!

We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.

You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.

While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.

We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.

Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!

how to create an amelia event that is just so it shows up on my calendar but instead of people registering on my site it sends people to another site isntead of registering on my site.

I understand that there is a redirect function. But I don't want people to register for an event on my site and then think there regsitered.

I would rather just add the event to my calendar and let them read the description and click the hyper link to the partners website to register there.

    Hello Brody,

To achieve this setup, you can configure the event in Amelia so that bookings are not allowed and redirect users to the partner's website. Here's how:

    1. Create the Event:

      • Go to the Amelia Events page and create a new event.
      • Add the event details, such as the name, date, and time.
    2. Close Bookings:

      • Set the "Booking Opens" and "Booking Closes" dates so that the booking period is already closed before the event is created (e.g., set the "Booking Closes" date to a day in the past). This ensures that no one can register for the event on your site.
    3. Add a Redirect Link:

      • In the Event Description, include a hyperlink to the partner's website. You can write something like:
"To register for this event, please visit Partner's Website."
    4. Publish the Event:

      • Save and publish the event. It will now display on your calendar, but users will only see the description with the hyperlink to the external site.

This way, the event appears in your calendar, and users are directed to the partner's website for registration, avoiding any confusion.

Let me know if you need further clarification!

Okay this is a way of working around it. Although my event is not showing up in all locations due to the event being closed.

One example is the upcoming events list on the calendar..

See attachement below. How can I work around this so that the event is listeded like every other event?

Also another issue is the event still has a book now button listed with price and it is obviously greyed out cause the event is closed. This is very confusing for customers trying to register to the event through the external link.

I think you need to highly reconsider this as there are not always events just on the website that still need to be listed in many cases.

If there is not a work around to properly display external events please link me to the development team immediately to resolve this please

    Hello Brody,

    Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, Amelia does not currently offer an option to properly display closed events with an external link in a way that avoids confusion for customers. While custom development could address your specific needs, our development team does not provide custom solutions directly.

If you'd like, I can suggest reaching out to a third-party developer experienced with Amelia for a tailored solution. Alternatively, you can share your feedback with our product team so they can consider this enhancement for future updates.

Let me know how you'd like to proceed.
