Got it! Unfortunately, there isn’t currently a placeholder available that can read this information. Regarding the deposit, there’s only the one we currently have. Feel free to suggest this on a feature suggestion page.
that does not make any sense, since the deposit amount is already shown on checkout as the amount to be paid. It would make more sense to show the remainer amount.
I will make this a feature request, but I really hope you take this to development. My experience with the feature requests is that most will remain a request for years, even with a lot of votes...
Hi,
I use woocommerce for checkout, when I setup deposits, in checkout, there is no indication that the payment is only a deposit.
I need somehow a notice or lineitem that tells what the remainer amount is.
How can I do this?

I hope you are doing well. You can this placeholder to MetaData and Description field in payment settings - %appointment_deposit_payment%
This should show the deposit amount in WooCoomerce checkout since the description comes from this section.

I can indeed put that placeholder, but that gives me the deposit amount, not the due later amount
I need some way to show the customer that there is still something to pay for later
