I am using Amelia Events to sell my online Zoom-courses, and since 3 days some clients do not receive their booking confirmation-mails. Its almost 50% of the emails that were not delivered.
I am using SMTP. I checked the credentials, they are correct. I have been using Amelia and the confirmation e-mails with exactly this setup for a full year now, and I never had these problems. I did not change anything.
I am not using Gmail, btw.
The only thing I changed is that I switched from Stripe and PayPal to Mollie Payments, but I dont think this could be the reason? Also, during the first week of using Mollie, e-mails were sent 100% - and then suddenly this issue came up.
Thank you for reaching out to us. I don't believe this is related to the payment method. You mentioned SMTP configuration, and since it’s not Gmail, I assume you’re using Outlook?
This could potentially be an issue because Microsoft recently decided to stop supporting basic authentication. As they stated, "Basic Authentication is an outdated industry standard. The threats it poses have only increased over time, and we have already deprecated Basic Authentication across numerous products."
thanks for your reply! I am not using Outlook, I am using a local (Austrian-based) provider (@a1.net) that supports SMTP. And it worked perfectly fine for a full year.
I see. Can you please provide the WP admin credentials so we can troubleshoot eaiser?
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Yes, I couldn’t reproduce the issue at all. I meant the email hosting provider. By default, we always recommend using Gmail or Outlook, but since you are using a custom one, the issue might be related to the email provider's settings.

I guess the solution would be to use Gmail instead, as this works perfectly fine, so far.
