Hello, I have a Yoga studio, and I'd like to show all my classes in a calendar monthly format, There are 2 classes each day, it's a recurring event that happens every day - from Sunday to Thursday. Twice a month, every month on different dates, the studio is closed. Is there a way to exclude specific dates from a recurring class? I understand that in order to show the calendar view, I need to define the classes as "events".
There are two options available: appointments and events. These are separate features and, unfortunately, they cannot be combined. Each has its own unique booking form.
Currently, there isn’t an option to display appointments in a monthly calendar view. However, you can showcase a list or calendar view for events.
It’s also worth noting that there are two types of events: multi-day and recurring events. You can find a detailed explanation of the differences between them in this article - Recurring VS multi-day events
You can also check out this link for more information about events.
thank you Stefan. Since I want to use the calendar view, I would need to set the classes as recurring events. Twice a month, every month on different dates, the studio is closed. Is there a way to exclude specific dates from a recurring event?
All recurring events when created would appear like this in the backend
And like this on the frontend
Unfortunatelly, there is no option to exclude the particular events, because Amelia would create the new events based on the parameters configured in settings. For example, this one is recurring daily.
It will always register "daily" from the creation date. If you create an event today and you've configured it to be daily, Amelia will create a new event for each day, until the day you've specified as the last one. You can also configure the other recurring option such as weekly, or monthly, but there is no option to "skip" or "exclude" the specific event.
You can use CSS code to hide a specific event from the event list, but please note that you would need to reapply this after creating or updating an event.
