thank you for your detailed reply. I appreciate the explanation of how translations are handled.
Just to confirm my understanding: The correction of this translation error ("Zu" to "Bis") won’t be fixed by your team directly? Instead, I need to correct it myself by installing an additional plugin, making the changes, and then managing the translation manually with every update—unless I fully translate your plugin into my language and submit it to you for free?
I just want to make sure I’m interpreting this correctly before proceeding.
I can confirm this issue: In the Backend everything is correctly translated, but in frontend this is false. The String is also already corrected at https://translate.wordpress.org/
Apologies for replying so late to this comment. Thank you for all your patience.
Thank you for reporting that. I will send this to our developer Team and they will work on fixing it as soon as possible.
We will do our best to add a fix in the next update. If not possible, it should be added in the one after that. Thanks again for reporting this and for all your patience.
Sorry about that, I spoke too soon. Actually, I just did some tests with the latest wpDataTables Version 7.1 and I am not able to reproduce the issue you described.
Here is one of my tables which has a Number Range filter and it is correctly translated for German in both back and front-end.
Here is a screenshot how the word Bis correctly shows as the "To" word of the filter at back end :
And here is how it translates correctly on the front-end table filter as well :
As you can see, it also works for Date Range ( it should work for any filter range, basically). And if we check in the Loco Translate, the word is correctly translated as well :
So, the string which Sofia originally reported has been fixed.
If you found some other string of our Plugin which is still not properly translated @Andreas, please open a new ticket and send us more details, try to add screenshots or a Video to point us to which string is in question exactly.
Hi Miloš, thanks for your effort. This is really strange! I can still reproduce this issue on two systems (caching is not the cause). But after your reply I did some tests on other Websites, all running wpdt 7.1 on WordPress 6.7.1, and your're right: Translation is correct there. So probably a theme related issue? I will check this out and give you an update. Btw: The plugin on the websites with correct translation DOES HAVE the correct strings in the translation files that did the manual fix for me:
Can you check, on those websites where the translations are not right, do you have Loco Translate installed, and then check which file path is being used for the translations?
It happened a few times where a user installs Loco Translate, and creates a new translation file path, which says 'system', rather than 'Author'.
Here is an example from my Test Site of how it should look. When we open Loco Translate, then pick wpDataTables and find the German translation file. On the right side, there is a column 'folder' and it should say 'author'.
So check if you perhaps have another 'copy/duplicate' of the wpdatatables-de_DE.po file which says folder as 'system'. If so, delete that one so in the end, only our 'author' folder one should remain.
Here is how the Translation progress should look: 46%translated, 3,033 strings (421 fuzzy, 1,210 untranslated) And our 'author' path for the file - where it draws the translations from, should be ..\wp-content\plugins\wpdatatables\languages/wpdatatables-de_DE.po
Check if this is perhaps the case on the specific two systems/sites where it is wrong?
If that does not help, we will need to do a more detailed investigation on your Site, since we can't reproduce it and no other user has this issue.
In that case, please open a new ticket from your Ticksy support account and send us full access, such as URL of one of the Websites which has the issue; Along with a WP-Admin ( Administrator) User credentials; And FTP credentials ( Also confirm the path to the WordPress folder on that FTP of the Site).
Then we can remote in and investigate it.
When you send credentials or any sensitive data, just make sure the reply is set as PRIVATE - then only we can see it.
Hi,
There is an error in the German translation in the range filter.
From=Von is correct, but
To=Zu is false!
It should be "Bis", not "Zu".
How can I correct this?

Hi Miloš,
I can confirm this issue: In the Backend everything is correctly translated, but in frontend this is false. The String is also already corrected at https://translate.wordpress.org/
I corrected it locally:
#: wpdatatables/source/class.wdttools.php:507
#: wpdatatables/source/class.wdttools.php:561
#: wpdatatables/templates/admin/table-settings/column_settings_panel.inc.php:1091
msgid "To"
msgstr "Bis"
@Sofia you can use https://poedit.net/ to do that.
It should be corrected in the plugin asap as this is a very obvious mistake in a very visible place.
Thanks!
Andreas
