I have experienced the following behavior of Amelia on my website, which I consider limiting:
With the settings of employee panel 'on' and customer panel 'on'; with two employees; of which employee 1 is havingthe roles of 'amelia employee' and 'amelia administrator'; and (if that matters), the employee 1 is also syncronising with an outlook calendar; and (if that matters) the setting is that customer bookings are saved as pending approvement (rather than as approved).
Then in a scenario, where a customer has made a booking, and the employee 1, on the employee panel, wants to shift the appointment, this is not possible because none of the employee 1 time slots is made available in this view. If the shifting of the appointment can be made then it is always to the employee 2 schedule (which is not intended).
I noted that the error is disappearing if either the role of employee 1 is reduced to amelia employee (not manager at the same time) OR if there is no employee 2.
Thank you for sharing the details. Based on the issue you're experiencing, it seems that when employee 1 has both the "Amelia Employee" and "Amelia Administrator" roles, the available time slots for employee 1 aren't displayed, leading to the appointment shift being directed to employee 2's schedule instead.
This behavior is resolved if the role of employee 1 is changed to "Amelia Employee" only, or if employee 2 is removed from the system. We recommend reviewing the role configuration or removing any unnecessary employees to avoid this issue.
Please let us know if further assistance is needed.
Thanks for your reply. This is exactly the case. The pushing to the other employee's schedule happens with the Amelia Administrator role and also with the wordpress site Administrator role.
There is a work around that in a small teams without a dedicated Amelia administrator who is doing no actual work with clients, the person who is managing across the team (we are two therapists, but it equally appies to other small shops e.g. hairdresser etc.) has both an employee and an administrator role and must switch as to need of the transaction to be managed. And if it is forgotten once, the work will be shifted to a different employee and clients get an email of something noone had intended. That all is of course not helpful in the day-to-day work.
Unless this behavior of Amelia is intended it would be great if this could be listed as a requested bug-fix and if I could be notified in some way once it is resolved. Is there a process for this?
Thank you for your feedback. We understand the concern, and we plan to work on improving this logic in the future. Your input is valuable, and we appreciate your patience as we strive to enhance the plugin's functionality.
