This is causing other dynamic elements of elementor to not load.
We need the previous version so we can install it on our broken sites until this is resolved.
Our developers isolated the bug with Elementor for our latest 7.0.1 version, and they'll add it to their queue for fixing.
They will do their best to build a final version of the fix as soon as possible.
We don't have an ETA on when the fix will be available, but please keep a lookout on our wpDataTables changeLog.
It will be stated there during updates which bug fixes have been implemented at each update.
We do have the initial version of the fix now, I am sending it here as an attachment. Our developers made it work on multiple Test websites and we have multiple users report it fixed it for them, so it should work for you - but this is still being tested by our QA Team until official release as a new update.
If you wish to try this fix right now, here are the instructions.
Please find this JS file via FTP on your Hosting WordPress folder, the path is :
Upload this edited JS file we attached to the ticket, and overwrite the old JS file.
Make sure to clear the cache of your Site and clear your browser's cache, refresh the page(s) where the issue was and check, it should be fixed.
Let me know how it goes.
If you need us to do this for you, we will need access to the Site. For Ryan, since you opened the ticket, we can do this directly for you here, but we need the following permission/access :
Please provide me the URL to the Site (one example Page that shows the error/issue) and a WP-admin (administrator) user for your website where this happens along with FTP Credentials, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here because, just make sure to send this in a PRIVATE reply, then nobody can see them except us.
@Daniel, if you need us to apply this fix on your Site - Since we found you opened a separate private ticket - we replied to it there; If you don't manage to solve this, just reply to your private ticket and send us the remote access, if you need us to do this for you.
for some reason this fix does not work for firefox or chrome..
i can clear the cache on my browser - but my customers will not know to do that. is there a permanent way you could fix so the fix is transparent to customers that are not technical?
Yes, we had another user who had to clear cache of their Site and their browser, in order to see this change/the fix applied.
When they cleared cache - then the browser loaded the new/fixed version of the Site/pages. So basically, the fix works for all browsers, but in a situation when there is a cache issue, either from your Site or on a user's device - it can be tricky to make an additional fix for that from our end.
Did you try to purge all cache of your Site, and also ask your WP Hosting provider support to do a deep cache purge from the server, that could help, then you can check if you can notice any further issue on any browser on your Site, when refreshing the Page?
Our developers are almost finished preparing the new Update, which will contain the permanent fix for this issue. It is planned to be released very soon, sometime next week, but our QA Team is still doing some final tests before it is officially released, which could postpone it - so I can't promise an exact ETA.
In the meantime, as a temporary fix - you can either use the JS file we sent; Just make sure to clear the cache of the Site and browser, then it should work;
Or we can apply it for you, if you send us Admin and FTP access via a private message;
- Or we can also send you a previous 6.7.1 installation if you wish to reroll/downgrade the Plugin version until this update is launched.
Let us know if you require any further assistance at this time.
Thank you for the information you provided in this ticket. I'm having the same issue, and it is affecting around 4 sites that I have using WPdatatables.
This issue affected Elementor Forms submissions, JetFormBuilder from Crocoblock dynamic display, calculated fields and reading other field within the form.
After I found this threat, I deactivated WPDatatables, and everything that was not working on my sites started working.
Will you be able to share a previous version of WPDataTable, so we don't have to apply the JS fix. Many of our users will not know that they have to clear their cache.
Yes, we can send you the previous 6.7.1 premium wpDataTables version - that way, you can reroll it on your Site(s) and when we release this upcoming update with the fix, you can just update wpDataTables and the fix will already be applied on it.
Just, in order for us to send you the premium 6.7.1 installation, you need to open a new private ticket from your Ticksy account - and I can send it to you there. This is a public ticket, so we can't send a download link that way.
Our developers released a new Update 7.1 in the meantime, which has a fix for this bug, that throws the error "elementor is not defined" in tbe browser developer console.
That is usually manifested by Elementor Navigation menu dropdowns not working, and similar issues like that.
Please update wpDataTables to the latest version 7.1 and purge cache of the Site after the update - just to avoid any 'old cache issues'.
Then refresh the Page and let us know if the issue is fixed on your Site.
