Amelia can't cancel any appointments on its own. If the appointments were not canceled manually by the client, yourself, another admin, or any Amelia Managers (if you're the only employee, I don't know if you have any managers or other administrators on the site) the only other option that's left is a link checker. It looks like this:
What link checkers do is they validate each URL that's in the email, and in order to do that they have to visit the URL. Those can be built into the end user's mailing platform, or they could be add-ons for the browser or the email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc). When they visit the cancelation URL (to check for potential viruses), they cancel the appointment. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do in this case. The only workaround would be to create a Front-end Customer Panel and explain the procedure in the email, like:
"To cancel your appointment, please log in to your Customer panel, and click on the pencil symbol. There you'll see the "Cancel" option."
Hope this helps.
Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
I can guarantee that neither the client nor an admin/manager canceled these appointments. Today, it happened again – and, once again, the client used their university email (@ut.ee). So it looks like a pattern. And it makes sense that universities are using higher security settings (like link checkers).
So there is absolutely nothing we can do if we don't want to create a front-end customer panel?
Can we also use the cancelation link in a different way? At the moment, it's inserted as an email placeholder, so when the link checker "clicks" on it, the booking is canceled. To avoid this, can we add another URL in the confirmation email (that directs to a specific landing page) and add the booking cancelation link there? If so, then what link should be used? The email placeholder is %appointment_cancel_url% but what is the actual link to use?
We can guarantee that Amelia can not in any case cancel an appointment on its own so there must be some link checker and that is something that we can not influence. The only workaround that we can offer at this time is to use our customer panel so that they can manage and review their appointments.

Three of our clients have let us know that seconds after making a booking, they received a cancellation notification.
Our employees haven't cancelled these bookings and we also don't have online payment, which could trigger cancellation.
What could be the reason for such automatic cancellation (just seconds after the booking)?
Note: I don't know whether it's a coincidence, but all these three clients used their university email to book.
