We noticed something odd when creating an event: when pasting in a text into the event description box in text-mode, and saving, the event could not be saved.
Noticeably, we don't get an error if the event already exists. You only notice something went wrong when closing and reopening the event and notice the description box is empty / contains the value prior to the edit.
In the JS console, we get a ---Post 500 (Internal Server Error)--- when saving the event.
After comparing this event description with any other one, which still worked; we concluded that if the text contained emoticons, the issue would occur.
I personally was able to recreate the issue with as little as this: hi test 👋
Is this issue known to you and how can we fix this? Our clients stumbled into this issue because they like to use emoticons for their events targeted to children.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Currently, emoticons (emojis) are not supported in the event description field, which is causing the issue you're experiencing when saving events. We're aware of this limitation, and our team is working on improving this functionality for the future.
For now, I recommend avoiding the use of emojis in the event descriptions. We understand this might be an inconvenience for your clients who like to use emoticons, especially for children's events, and we will make improvements to support them in the near future.
Thank you for your patience, and feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance.
Thank you for the clarification, I will pass it on. Suggestion in the meantime: a message above the editor with a note of that would prevent confusion.
Looking forward to receiving new updates from you all. Keep up the good work
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and suggestion! Adding a note above the editor is a great idea to help prevent confusion, and I'll be sure to pass it along to the team.
We appreciate your kind words and support—it means a lot to us. Please don't hesitate to share any other ideas or suggestions you might have.
