We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!

We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.

You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.

While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.

We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.

Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!

We have a client that would like to rent gear, one week at a time.  Are there any use cases that you're aware of where people have done this?

I figured I might be able to set up each product as an "employee" and do it that way, but maybe there is a better method?

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Hello,

Yes, there are a couple of ways you can handle gear rentals on a weekly basis using Amelia. You’ve identified two possible methods:

    1. Employee per Gear Item

In this setup, each piece of gear can be treated as an employee. This way, you can:

    • Create an "employee" profile for each gear item (e.g., Bike #1, Kayak #2).
    • Assign services (e.g., weekly rental) to each "employee."
    • Set availability based on the gear’s schedule (if it’s only available certain weeks).

This method is useful if you want to keep track of individual gear availability and avoid double bookings.

    2. Service with Capacity

Alternatively, you can create a single service (e.g., "Weekly Gear Rental") and set the capacity to match the number of gear items available for rent. For example:

    • If you have 10 kayaks available, set the capacity to 10.
    • When a customer books a gear rental, the capacity decreases by one.
    • This is simpler to manage if you have many items of the same type.
    Recommendation

If your gear inventory is diverse and each item needs individual tracking, use the employee per gear method. If the items are identical and you just need to manage the total quantity available, go with the service with capacity option.

Let me know if you need help setting this up or have further questions!

    Kind Regards,
