Im using wpdatables with the gravity forms connector.
I have a string column which has text filtering enabled. In the predefined filter field, i enter %VAR1%
The wpdt ID is 2.
In the shortcode, i enter [wpdatatable id=2 VAR1='NUTH-RVI-PERIOPS']
I expected this would only show entries where this field has a value of NUTH-RVI-PERIOPS but actually, the wpdt loads, with no matching entries, There should be 1 entry matching this. In the field's search box, the word
%VAR1%
is pre filled. Please see screenshot
This shows that the predefined filter is not picking up the value from the shortcode.
Can you please disable server-side processing in this table, now try again - check if your filter works?
If so, we have a disclaimer, this is a current limitation for filtering/sorting in Gravity :
Searching, filtering and sorting with Server-side processing – After turning on server-side processing, sorting and search may start to behave unexpectedly. We plan to work with Gravity team to improve it in future versions.
2. If you disable the server-side option, but the filter is still not working :
Can you please send me the URL of this Page where the table shortcode is?
And Admin access to check the back-end setup :
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
thank you for the reply. Ok I will try without server side processing and report back.
Please may I ask a related question about gravity forms connector ?
I have gravity flow installed which adds several meta to the gform entry.
In wpdt, these meta are not available to include in the table. Only standard gravity forms meta. do you know if there is a way to add extra meta fields to a dt with the gform connector ?
That seems a good plan - Let me know how it goes without the server-side processing for that part.
In regards to using Gravity add-ons, which create new field types that are not available from the core Gravity Form Fields.
Sorry to disappoint you, but our Support is not able to cover that part - as we mentioned on our Documentation, please note this as one of our limitations for the integration : Gravity Forms integration add-on is working with wpDataTables plugin and the core Gravity Forms plugin. However, integration with other Gravity Forms add-ons isn’t confirmed, so we cannot guarantee that it will work.
