Are there any known issues of wpDataTables Pro (specially in areas of database management, querying and performance) with hosting on Wordpress.com Business plan?
We are not aware of any known issues, in terms of WP hosting on WordPress.com for any plan.
In terms of their specific plans - we are not aware exactly how they perform, on each plan, etc, so our Support does not cover that.
Of course, since this is a public ticket - if any other user already tried that specific plan, they can comment on their experience.
We only had one specific issue for Elementor Cloud Hosting before, but we are happy to say this was fixed in our new Plugin versions - so at this time, there are no known issues for any WordPress Hosting.
We don't have specific preferred/top recommended hosting, but there is a very good recommended list from 'wpBeginners', they are our trusted source for any beginner advice on WordPress, so you will find a lot of useful guides/tutorials on their Site for setting up a WordPress Site, configuring major settings you need when you start, etc.
Next to each hosting recommended there, you will find their link to the full review in more details with pros and cons about each of them, so you can then make an informed decision in the end.
As mentioned, on the same Site, you will be able to find various useful articles, for recommended ways to configure your PHP limitation settings on the hosting server, and so on...
2. Just one important point to be aware of : For example, if you plan to connect our Plugin to call SQL data from a remote server's Database - You can first check with the Hosting support, of that server which holds the remote DB, which driver(s) is needed to be able to connect to it; Then you can ask your WP Hosting which you are considering to purchase the plan from - do they already have that driver available and if not - will they be able to install it for you on the WP hosting server. We have some users who use WPEngine.com hosting, that hosting provider is known for not wanting to install any additional driver needed for the user's remote Database - such as for PostgreSQL for example, they refuse to install 'pgsql' driver.
So if you require PostGreSQL Remote DB connection - i would advise against WPEngine.
So that might be something to consider, you can check about that with the WP hosting you are considering.
3. In terms of performance, etc - We don't have a specific recommendation, you can search on Sites like wpBeginner, they have great tutorials and recommended setups to get the best possible performance on WP in general; but there is no universal advice for it. If you can get the PHP Memory, PHP timeOut limits as high as possible - then your Site will be able to handle more data - it depends on how much data you plan to have on it, etc...
For very large tables - you can use our Plugin's server-side processing, this can help a lot to have great loading performance for tables specifically, etc.
