Hi, my customers needs an employee to be able to manage Amelia but also be a WP author or editor on the site to manage posts.
Do they really need to use either two different accounts for this employee or use a plugin like User role manager to accomplish this or is there another way?
You can add different roles in WP users to each role. In Amelia you must not be admin and employee or similar. So you can not mix other Amelia roles but if probably you can add other WP roles that are not additional Amelia roles.
For admin and employee you need to have separate users and mail and logins.
Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
"...probably you can add other WP roles that are not additional Amelia roles"
but how would i do that? If I go to users I can only assign 1 role. So if I assign the Amelia Manager role, I cannot make that user WP author or editor as well. If I should be able to: how do I do that? Thanks
This is a WordPress related question, not Amelia perhaps you can try and use some plugins role editor plugin or similar. So perhaps with one of these plugins you can achieve that. We do not work with them and since this is not related to Amelia plugin options we can not say much more.
We wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
I do see this differently. In my opinion it is very much related to how Amelia is set up. Businesses have employees that manage some aspects of their websites. Not just Amelia, but also blog posts for instance.
Amelia is a WordPress plugin that only allows certain user Amelia user roles + admins to manage (parts of) Amelia. It is therefore Amelia that creates an issue for business employees that need to manage Amelia appointments and WP posts but are not allowed to be WP admins.
As I understand now, they are not able to do that without using 2 different WP user accounts or they have to be assigned the admin role (my customer does not want to give the employee admin access). One for Amelia, and one to edit and/or publish posts. This is directly related to how Amelia is set up. I am not saying that it is bad, but I would have appreciated it if you could have just given me this straighforward answer directly instead of saying it is solely a WordPress issue.
We can not say that this is not possible since we do not work with role plugins so this can perhaps be achieved with some plugins role we know that some of our users are using this but what is the exact setup or their intended use we can not say. We hope that you can set this up with some similar plugin.
Should you have any further inquiries, we kindly request that you open separate tickets for each question and we will gladly help you there.
