Most of the time, appointments get saved to the Google Calendar fine. But every now and then, someone books an appointment and it doesn't get saved to the calendar. It shows in the Amelia calendar and we get the confirmation emails, but it's not in the calendar.
How does it work? Does Amelia only try once when the appointment is booked? In which case, if the API call fails then it never gets saved? Is it possible to make the system more robust by retying later or periodically syncing with Google Calendar to make sure it's up to date?
Hi, The same has happened to me several times. Now again. The last time we redid the whole process of activating google calendar as if it was the first time and that worked, but it can´t be the solution on a long basis. I would also be interested in hearing from Amelia how to solve this problem.
Can you please create a separate ticket for this purpose and we will assist you with this?
Fred, It could have been some timeout when the appointment was booked and thus I would suggest that you keep an eye on this and let us know if the same issue reoccurs. If it does, try reconnecting the Google Calendar to an employee and that should resolve this issue.
Reconnecting the Google Calendar will result in the removal of already-synced appointments from the Google Calendar. Currently, there isn't another solution to ensure that future appointments are consistently transferred to Google Calendar. We understand this isn't ideal, but this process is necessary to re-establish the sync. If this was a one-off issue, I recommend keeping a close eye on the synchronization for now to ensure that future appointments are being transferred correctly. Please let us know if you continue to face issues, and we'll do our best to assist further.

Thanks for your reply, however it’s not really a fix or workable solution.
The only way I can tell if it failed is manually checking and comparing the Amelia calendar with the Google calendar, every day!
Does reconnecting the Google Calendar sync existing appointments or only future appointments?
As for a fix, could you consider an option to force sync the calendars every day? Or rather than ignoring the timeout, try again later?
Thanks
Hello Fred,
Thank you for the update on this.
