An issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:
Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.
Your website has a PHP version of less than 7.
The credentials are not correct.
There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.
If you're using Gmail, please check out this article for detailed setup instructions.
Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue. If you're still not able to resolve the issue, we'll need to remote into your website and see what's going on.
Yes, because these are the basic troubleshooting steps when it comes to the notifications setup. We haven't made any changes regarding the notifications on the latest update. Of course, you can have the previous version, but we would advise going though the steps before reverting back to the previous version.
No issues with notifications have been reported with the latest version. We are currently using the latest version for testing purposes and a lot of our users have also updated to the latest one. This is why I recommended checking if the configuration is correct or perhaps there is a conflict with the other plugins. We are planning on the release of Amelia 7.7 soon, so you might want to update to this one, once released.
It's recommended to use the STMP protocol for mail settings in Amelia. This is a tested and proven way of sending emails since sending them with PHP or WP mail will result in sending emails as spam. And it also takes time to be sent. There are actually two errors as to why they wouldn't work. The first one is the wrong credentials, and the second one is related to the hosting provider issues. If your configuration is correct, then you would need to check with the hosting. But the easiest way to inspect this is through the developer console, if you see an error when sending a test email, this would be visible in the dev console.
I see, thanks for the screenshot. Well, i guess the only option to find out is to log in and investigate. If you can provide the WP admin credentials, I can do that.
This is because the WP mail or PHP mail is not a "stable" protocol and sometimes it can work, sometimes it doesn't. I've also tried google as the host, and this is the error I see in developer console
This indicates that the issue could be related to the hosting provider issues. If there is a chance, please reach out to your hosting provider and see if there is something there preventing the notifications from being sent.
With the latest update, Amelia's notifications don't work.
can we have an older version of the plugin? so that we can use notifications
Thanks

The plugin works and the notifications work.
I think you have a problem with the latest version of the plugin because notifications don't work with that version
Let me know as soon as you fix the problem so I can update it
Thanks

It works and then it stops working. I don't know why.
Can you tell me how I can check if there's something else blocking the notifications from being sent?
Thanks

Hello Stefan,
If I send an email test from "Notifications" in Amelia this is sent correctly.
if I change the status of the woocommerce order, amelia send the email
but if a person places an order they only receive woocommerce emails and not Amelia's.
how is it possible?
Let me know
Hi Irene,
Perhaps, the notification templates are turned off? There are templates that are sent to both customers and employees, have you checked those?

Stefan Petrov
