We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!

We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.

You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.

While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.

We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.

Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!

I have some misunderstandings around events vs services.

I am wanting to start offering online consultations for my clients....while this seems to be a service to offer...it is confusing that I have to set a location.
    1.  We DO offer services where a customer needs to select a location to go for the service.
    2.  Now we ALSO want to offer for a customer to book for online advice/consultations....but an Employee HAS to have a location set ....makes no sense when an employee is doing an online consultation....it would confuse a customer to be forced to select a location.

    * an event seems more for multiple people to have an "event" online

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns.

I understand the confusion around setting up online consultations as services within Amelia. Here are some clarifications and suggestions to address your points:

    1. Offering Services with Physical Locations:
      • For services that require a physical location, you can set up each service with the appropriate location where the customer needs to go.
    2. Offering Online Consultations:
      • For online consultations, you can create a "virtual" location to differentiate these services from those that require a physical location. This way, employees can be assigned to this virtual location for online consultations.
      • When setting up the service, name the location something like "Online" or "Virtual Consultation." This will help clarify to customers that no physical presence is required for these services.
    3. Employee Location Requirement:
      • It's true that Amelia requires each employee to have a location set, but by creating a "virtual" location as mentioned above, you can assign this to employees who will be offering online consultations.
    4. Events vs. Services:
      • Events in Amelia are designed for group activities, which makes them suitable for webinars, workshops, or any group online sessions.
      • Services are typically for individual appointments or consultations, which seems to fit your requirement for online consultations better.

To summarize, creating a virtual or online location should resolve the confusion and allow you to offer both physical and online services seamlessly. This approach ensures that customers are not forced to select a physical location for online consultations, thus avoiding any potential confusion.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance setting this up, please let me know.

    Kind Regards,
