Thanks for reaching out to us. You need to change the default timeslot step in General settings. By default, it's configured to 30 minutes, but you can change this according to your needs. You can configure lower value, to have lower increments.
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Hi, Thanks. I would also like sessions to default to starting on the hour-- not 20 minutes after the hour. The only ones that could vary would be the "free 20 minute sessions" but, really, i'd like them to start on the hour as well.
There are other things I'd love your help with but I know I need to submit one ticket at a time.
Thanks for the access and apologies for the delayed answer. Unfortunatelly, I'm not able to log in with the credentials provided. For some reason, I'm seeing this error
Perhaps this user doesn't have the permission (admin) to log in? Can you please double check?
Hi Stefan, I just sent you a pw reset link. I hope that works! Also, while you are in there, I am posting another ticket about my notifications. Maybe you can check that as well. (I know it is one question for ticket so will submit request separately. ty, Adina
Hi Stefan, Thanks for this help. Unfortunately, it is still booking on Thursdays for 10 min before the the hour. Maybe it is fixed on the front end with the customer-facing schedule but not on the back end?
Make sure that the timezone settings are configured properly. Instead of UTC timezone, it should be configured to the nearest city in your timezone. Having a timezone configured like this will display the timeslots on the booking wrong. You can find more information regarding timezone in this article - Time Zones with Amelia
Thanks and sorry I missed the note about the UTC timezone. Unfortunately, I've made all of the changes in Wordpress you suggested and still have the same problem: sessions are not coming up on the hour. Also, for some reason, on Aug 8 the noon session altogether disappeared, and the only option is 2pm, which is unfortunate as I am trying to book a 90 minute session starting at noon.
I also changed the "free 20 minute call" option to a 30 minute option incase that effects the time cadence and helps session start and end at 30 or 60 minute increments. This is getting frustrating. I hope there is a solution. Thank you
Apologies for the delayed answer. Just log in to take a better look. You have buffer times added to most of your services and those buffer times are 20 minutes long (both before and after). Therefore it's not possible to configure the timeslots to start at 10:30 or 11:00 for example, since the total is the service duration plus both buffer times. August 8 is Thursday, where your employee has work hours starting from 11:30, but since you have buffer time after, that would be 11:50 AM and so on.
Hi Stefan, Thanks for your response. I already created a 30 minute "Default Time Slot Step" appointments so that it would book on the hour. I don't know where you are seeing 20 minutes. I changed the setting two days ago--maybe the system is not updating properly? Here are screenshots to show you what I see. I was just know trying to schedule an appt on Sept 6 at 2pm. The system will not let me! It only gives me the time of 1:20 pm even though I opened a 2 hour window in employee settings just so I could get it booked accurately.
Also, since this is becoming so cumbersome, I'd like to have NO "Default Time Slot Step" so that my appointments schedule on the half hour and the hour but it appears I am given only the option of 1, 5, 15, 20, 30 minute minimum "Default Time Slot Step"? Doesn't this mean that NO appointments will start on the hour? And, why would the "Default Time Slot Step" start working before the employee's first appointment? That doesn't make sense. I would use it if it would only occur BETWEEN appointments.
Finally, is there some one I can speak to on the phone in customer service? If I was not so deep into the formatting of this system, I would cancel my Amelia account. I am only in the testing phase and it is not going well. It takes too many steps-- and way too many settings just to schedule an appointment on the hour. A scheduler is supposed to save time. This is taking too much of my time AND delaying the start of my business because I am not advertising until these problems are resolved.
I have spent 45 minutes trying to schedule one appointment, including writing this email.
It also takes 1-2 days to get a response from TMS -plug ins. It would be helpful if the response time was shorter.
First of all apologies for the delayed answer. Please note that we don't work on weekends and we go through tickets in the order in which they are received and/or responded to. Unfortunatelly, we don't have the option for support via phone, and support is only available here, on Ticksy and some other social media platforms. Allow me to explain a bit more. I was referring to the buffer time before and after you have configured in service settings. This is not related to the Default Time Slot step. For example, the service "Free 30-minute Consultation" is 30 minutes long, but you have configured 20 minutes of buffer time before and after. As per the screenshot
In total, this is 70 minutes and thus each time you want to choose the timeslot, it won't be on the 60 minutes or 30 mark, as explained previously.
If you remove the buffer times, it will be visible as per your request.
Thanks, Stefan. I went in and changed all of the buffer times for before to "blank" and changed the buffer times for after to 1 hour, just so that appointments would start on the hour. I'd actually rather have the buffer times for after to be 30 minutes but I did not see that as option. Is there a way to get a 30 minute option?
Hi Stefan, I just tried to book a session for 11:30AM Aug 28 and there is no 30 minutes past the hour option, even though I made all of the previously mentioned changes w the buffer. Any idea why this is still happening? (this is message 3 of 3)
The Default Timeslot step is the option where you set the duration of the single appointment. This will also determine the increments in which you configure the service duration (not just service duration). If configured to 5 minutes, then the service duration can be only configured in increments of 5 minutes, for example.
The buffer times are different option, if you look at this in real-time, this is something like the "preparation" time for your employee after the appointment. Please note that you can configure the before and after buffer time for each service individually (it's not applied in general). Again, this depends on the Default Timeslot Step. Previously I was configured to 20 minutes and that's why you were seeing the timeslots like that. So, to summarize, you need to change the Default Timeslot to 30 minutes first, then in service settings, configure the buffer time after to 30 minutes (as per your request) and you should be able to see the timeslot starting with the 30 minutes.
You also need to make sure that the option "Allow admin to book at any time" is enabled, since without this option, an admin can only see the timeslot based on the employee work hours.
I've configured this for you now and this is how the timeslots are displayed now (service is 30 minutes consultation)
Yes, because the service duration of 20 minutes plus the buffer time of 20 minutes is 40 minutes in total, therefore, you would see the timeslots like this
I have a follow-up. (and please lmk if I need to make a new ticket.)
I thought we solved all the problems so that sessions could 1)book on the hour or the half hour and 2) that 90 minute sessions would be 90 minutes long.
Recently scheduled appointments show sessions still booking at 20 minutes after the hour and 90 min sessions are still 80 mins.
Apologies for the delayed answer. Yes, but the method that we were configuring previously is related to the backend booking. You still have the booking timeslots shown like this on the front end, therefore the timeslots are visible like on the screenshot
If you enable this option "user service duration for booking a timeslot", then the timeslots will be calculated based on each service duration.
Yes, Amelia will recognize the service duration now and the timeslots would be visible based on the chosen service duration. But, please note that the buffer times will not be included, since you have the second option disabled.
Hi, I book my sessions at 60 and 90 min intervals. It seems I only have options to book at 20 min intervals. How can I change this?

Thanks so much, Stefan! It looks a lot better now.
Question: if i did offer a "free 20-min consultation" which is what i indicate on my website, would it mess all of this up?
Hi Adina,
Yes, because the service duration of 20 minutes plus the buffer time of 20 minutes is 40 minutes in total, therefore, you would see the timeslots like this
