Not sure if I got the cron aspect understood, but I can go to hosting first for clarification… I think yeah.
Im so basic at a lot of this web creation, but…
Im just trying to change my email (send) service from PHP.
1) The only emails of any type I will send are Amelia booking notifications.
2) Again. I'm very basic lol.
3) The email service I utilize majority of time/space is native apple mail on both MacBook and iPhone. I also have my [email protected] profile installed on apple mail so I both send and receive my appleid, apple mail, and hostinger business mail via apple mail.
4) I've read all the help pages, and tried to configure my gmail for some reason, but that was a squirrel chase.
Can you all simply point me in the exact place and data to input in my device(s) please… in relation to the below data would probably alleviate the most confusion (certainly all on my part)
SMTP Host – smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port – 587
SMTPSecure – TLS
SMTP Username – Your Gmail address
SMTP Password – Your App password (details about setting up an app password can be found in the yellow notice section below)
The most commonly used SMTP Ports are 465 and 587. Port 465 uses “SSL” as SMTP Secure, while port 587 uses “TLS” as SMTP Secure. Make sure to check what the correct SMTP settings are for your mailing provider.
All mine say IMAP. I have no idea the difference
this is what I'm looking at on my MacBook.
IF there is a easier/better suggestion to move away from PHP to get into inboxes more frequently please share specifically.
THANKS I feel you all can take us there from here haha?
Thanks for reaching out to us. The notifications settings should be configured in Amelia. There is a section called "notifications" where you need to enter the server name (usually Gmail) and your username, etc.
This is usually correct, but it depends on the hosting provider settings.

You want to enter them here
If it doesn't work, then please provide the WP admin credentials so I can log in to take a better look.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.

So… I use the native mail app on my MacBook and iPhone for all of my iCloud or Apple ID email accounts.
Also I have downloaded and utilize the gmail app on the same devices, but I only use it for my gmail accounts.
Also my UNI account is Microsoft Outlook so I have downloaded and use that app for that one particular account.
Currently (which I need to change this) my Hostinger Business email account is a profile in the apple mail app.
I am completely unaware of if/how these 3 different apps interact/interfere/interface on either MacBook or iPhone.
I guess I assume they all work independently and have no cross-interaction, but this is a guess based off the pretend-land that is my wandering mind.
How do I determine which service to input into the Amelia settings? Or does the input itself determine which (email client proper terminology?) the plugin uses as the outgoing server?
Any additional advice or instruction is welcome.
Thanks everyone and anyone who can point me anew and a-right.
Well, the most used client is the Gmail account (most used by other customers). As far as we know, there is no need to configure anything else, rather than the notifications settings in Amelia. If you have a simple gmail account, you can use that one as a client, but the other one that can be used is Outlook. By configuring the SMTP Host, you are actually telling Amelia which client to use. And configuring other settings such as port and username, you will configure the SMTP protocol for sending emails. The SMTP protocol is the most convenient way of sending emails since emails that are sent with PHP and WP mail are usually flagged as spam. Feel free to configure it according to the instructions and we will troubleshoot from there, if needed, of course.
Site is in maintenance mode atm.
