I am building a website for a client who is not happy with the package upsell on the step by step booking popup form when a customer is booking an individual service. They find it distracting and confusing and would like this disabled. Is there a way to accomplish this?
Also, they would like the google meet link to be automatically added to their customer's calendar when the customer adds the appointment to their calendar at the end of the purchasing process. Is this something that Amelia can do? If so, where can I find the documentation on this.
Thanks for reaching out to us. Sorry to disappoint you, but both options are not available within Amelia features, let me explain. The packages feature is designed to be displayed as "pop-up" whenever a customer select a service that is a part of a package. You can use different shortcodes to display only a certain event/service, but for the step by step, it will always be displayed as a "popup".
For the google meet link, this would need to be enabled first and then added as a placeholder. So far, Google Meet could be only be enabled for Events, but recently we have added the option to enable it for services, as well. The placeholder added to the notification template will only render the link once the appointment is booked, but in the email notifications sent to both employee and customer.
Please feel free to search through our feature suggestion page, to see if someone may have already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
So, to be clear, if I were to not use the step by step booking form and instead used a short code, then I would not have this package upsell pop-up? My client really does not like the upsell when trying to book an individual appointment and will be quite disappointed in this if there is no workaround.
Also, I am having an issue when creating a group appointment where an individual brings another person to the appointment. I have set it for a minimum of 2 people, but it is not requesting any further details for the 2nd person. Is this how it works?
If you use different shortcodes (catalog booking form, for example), all services and packages will be displayed on the same page. You may want to use this shortcode for example - [ameliastepbooking service=1] . This one will display only a service with a particular ID. Otherwise, a popup will always be shown if you have a package configured. You can find a full list of shortcodes on this link.
Regarding the appointment information, this is configured by default. Only the customer who is booking an appointment will have the option to enter the customer information. If you want to collect the other information, you can use custom fields. Please, find more information on this link.
Thank you for your help. I am currently having other issues with the plugin.
First, I am now not able to send test emails, nor am I receiving email notifications when I 'purchase' services in woocommerce test mode.
Second, when I am booking appointments in packages, I am able to double/triple book the same time slot. This should not be happening. Once, I have set an appointment time, I should not be able to set that same appointment time for another service. I have attached a screenshot to show you this.
Third, even when the other approval email notifications were working, I was still not receiving any notifications for package services that I booked appointments for.
Fourth, when I add an appointment at the end of the checkout process to my outlook calendar on an iphone, it opens my icalendar instead of outlook.
Apologies, when you have questions or issues which are not related to the title of the active ticket, please open a new ticket, and we will help you there. In that way, issues and questions which are related to different subjects will be in separate tickets so other customers or our support agents can find them easily. Our policy is to have one issue or question per ticket because of the reasons that are described already.
