when a customer books an appointment from one of our services, he receives two emails:
- one from the amelia plugin on our website with the booking confirmation (perfect)
- another one from google calendar with an invite to add the appointment to the customers calendar. (unnecessary)
Is it possible to completely disable this second mail? I found an option in wordpress backend > Amelia > settings > integration > google calendar: "send event invitation email" This is already turned off (maybe only affects events and not services???)
Our problem: the invitation is being sent from a different email-address than the amelia plugin uses. Some customers answer to that email.
Thanks for reaching out to us. Actually, the option "send event invitation email" is related to events, that's correct. When booking an appointment through Amelia, there is an option where is says "Add to Calendar" at the end of the booking. Would you be able to send a screenshot for better understanding?
As you can see, the buttons are not visible in the frontend, only in the backend. And there seem to be no settings for the calendar buttons, at least not here.
We found out, that it only happens when someone with a gmail-address books an appointment.

Different topic: can i remove the customer area button?
So i went ahead a booked a test appointment. I do have a Gmail account and the event invitation is sent, indeed. Is there a change to provide the WP admin credentials so I can log in to take a look at the configuration?
Thanks for the credentials. I was able to find the root cause. The appointment status is set to pending and there is an option called "Insert Pending Appointments" in Google Calendar. If you disable this option, then only two emails will arrive (without the Google Invitation)

Oh and i just found another setting:
Amelia > settings> general > "Show add to Calendar option to customers"
This is turned off, but for some unknown reason, it just happens when a gmail customer books an appointment.

Hello Andreas,
Thanks for the credentials. I was able to find the root cause. The appointment status is set to pending and there is an option called "Insert Pending Appointments" in Google Calendar. If you disable this option, then only two emails will arrive (without the Google Invitation)
Feel free to test it and let me know if it works.
