Filter bug when using back

Good morning, hope you had a good weekend. I may have found a bug with the filters and a datatable. This happens on Chrome and Edge browser, but not on Firefox or Brave.

If a user selects a filter, then clicks a link from that filter and goes to another page, then clicks back on the browser, when you go back to the page with the table and the filters (firstly nothing is loaded from the table), and you select the same filter again nothing happens, the table does not load, if you select a different filter it works, but selecting the same filter does nothing. You can see this error at the link above. The same happens no matter what filter you select. It would be great if clicking back kept the original filter loaded as it seems to do on Firefox and Brave browser, but just functioning on back would be great.

This becomes and issue because I have in the example above a couple dozen options under one filter and the user might want to go back and select another option.

Thanks for having a look and hope it is a simple fix!

    Cheers

    Tyrhone

Hi Milos and thanks for the in-depth reply and video. It was really helpful to see it was an extension causing the bulk of the issue. The only caching I have is Wpengines built in caching, and I am pretty sure I can ask them to deactivate for this specific page, I think this would be the simplest way forward, I will test again once I get them to do so.

I have another small issue but I will open a new ticket to keep them separate. Have a great week.

    Hi Tyrhone,

I am glad to see this was helpful as a step forward to resolve the issue.

Yes, that is a good idea, I believe if you can exclude the page with the table from any caching, that should resolve it, but let us know if you still notice this issue happening after that.

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards,
