my WP Amelia does not create a Order to an appointment when i create one in the backend, it replaces the Payment link with this link, and DOES NOT create an WOO Order:
Thanks for the access. The WooCoomerce order is only created when an appointment is booked from the frontend, by a customer. This is because when you are booking an appointment manually from the backend, there is no option to choose the payment method. It is automatically configured to "on-site" payment methods, for every appointment made manually in the backend.
no, an Woo Order will also be issued when creating an order from the backend. That always worked and i used it 90% of the time. But for some reason the Order creation stopped working when i book it for a customer through the backend.
Apologies, there might be a misunderstanding. When creating a new appointment for a customer, in the appointment section, there is an option to choose a customer, appointment date and time, but there is no option to choose the payment method. Are you referring to this booking or perhaps the manual creation of the WooCoomerce order?
The screenshot you provided is exactly what i am doing all the time - Creating Appointments in the Backend for Clients - and with that WP Amelia ALWAYS worked perfectly, by creating an woo order, to send the customer a payment link via email. But for some reason, it does not work anymore.
The WooCommerce order created was not actually tied to the backend appointment, it was tied to the link and the Amelia payment would only get tied to that order once the link was paid. Before every time the price was changed a new order would be created for the new payment link, this logic was changed recently, however causing a bug when appointments are created on the backend. We are already working on fixing this for future updates.
Thanks for the kind words. We'll make sure that we write all the information in the changelog. Hopefully, we will come up with the fix as soon as possible.
We are working on a fix for this issue, but we don't have an ETA at this moment, unfortunately. You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
In fairness to the team behind Amelia, the latest version is working fine for us for both appointments and events.
Amelia appears to be very prone to plugin conflicts and breakage from page speed optimisation. One thing I highly recommend is to minimise page optimisation and any unnecessary plugin code from running on the page where your booking form is displayed. This plugin is great for that: https://wordpress.org/plugins/freesoul-deactivate-plugins/
It will be always registered as "on site" payment, so the WooCoomerce order won't be registered since it's not paid with the WooCoomerce.
What does that mean? That there is no Woo-Order created? But that was the whole point of this, to have a corresponding Woo-Order and the user can pay through the "pay for order page" whenever and with whatever he likes.
I really dont understand this, its quite confusing.
To make it easy, can you answer the following questions:
- When i create an Appointment in WP-Amelia IN THE BACKEND - is there ALWAYS a WOO-Order created? (In previous Versions of WP-Amelia there was an Order created and it was PERFECT)
As explained previously, no WooCoomerce orders are created when booking from the backend, since you don't have the option to choose the WooCooomerce as the payment method. It will be always marked as "on site". WooCoomerce orders are created only when booked from frontend, by customers.
So please fix that, all my processes on my 3 websites are setup on this Backend Booking Process. Nearly all my clients call me and i am booking them from the backend for them - and i need to have the corresponding order in Woocommerce so that they get their payment link sent via mail & sms.
I am creating nearly all my Orders from the Backend, and it was perfectly working.
It does not matter for me, or the booking process, or wp-amelia which payment method is selected, because the user can select it later on at the "pay for order Page".
so please fix that, because it is a very very useful feature.
Apologies, but I'm not sure if we are pointing out the same topic. The option to choose the payment method, when booking manually, from the backend didn't exist at all previously. I'm referring to this section
As you can see, there is no option to choose the payment method. As far as we concluded, the WooCoomerce order is created only when the appointment is paid via WooCoomerce. Can you please give us step by step workaround on how were creating the WooCoomerce order manually, from the backend?
2) In YOUR RELEASE NOTE it statet about 5-6 months ago that there will be a WOOCOMMERCE Order created when booking FROM THE BACKEND (aka. the "New Appointment" form.
3) This form NEVER HAD any selector for selecting a payment method - AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY
4) I used it A LOT because it created the following:
- An APPOINTMENT
- An WOO ORDER
- A PAYMENT LINK
and a Email and SMS that included this Payment link to the corresponding WOO-Order for the User. There was EVEN a Feature request from the community to map the Woo-Order to the Customer. So that you can see which order belongs to which customer in Woocommerce. Your developers fixed that too.
To sum that up: IT WORKED, it was perfect, and there was no need to select a "payment method" because as i stated above: there was no payment-method selector and the customer got a payment link vie email with YOUR SHORTCODE. This Shortcode is still included in my wp-amelia emails and SMS - to make the user pay - after i book them through the "new-appointment form" FROM THE BACKEND.
hope that clears it up.
To make it clear, this is a bug, because it worked for about 5 months. (And it has nothing to do with selecting the payment method)
Thanks for the additional explanation. I just spoke with developers regarding this. The option for creating the WooCoomerce order when the appointment is not paid has been disabled since we had some complaints. It has been forwarded to developers and they will add the option to choose if the order is going to be created or not, in other words when it's paid or not.
Thank you again for the explanation and for pointing it out and apologies for the inconvenience.
I am encountering the exact same problem. I can't believe that a manually added appointment doesn't create an order in WooCommerce. How are we supposed to maintain good administration and keep financial oversight? I work with both manually added appointments and online appointments and need both in my WooCommerce!
Apologies, but as explained previously, this option has been disabled temporarily, but the information has been forwarded to developers. The WooCoomerce order is created when booked from frontend, by customers, but the developers will add the option for the backend in future updates.
I know you’ve explained this before, but I wanted to emphasize the importance of the issue. A clear financial process is crucial for all our businesses. Currently, we are forced to manually add orders for every appointment. For me, this amounts to over 200 manual WooCommerce orders per week. This should give you an idea of the workload involved when this option is disabled.
I was planning to switch from my current booking system to Amelia this week. However, I can't proceed because I simply don’t have the time to manually create 200 invoices in WooCommerce each week.
I understand, but, unfortunatelly, what I can do for now is forward this information to the developers. Unfortunatelly, no changes can be made before relating an update. It needs to be tested first and then released. We are aware of its importance, and developers will come up with options.
thats exactly the problem i am facing too. And as web developer i have 3 websites proposals with WP-Amelia for customers and i cannot move forward, because i ALREADY SOLD this feature to my customers.
I would recommend to make a (hidden) button, like you did with the other functionality, to activate the creation of orders from the backend.
Yep its unbelievable to be honest! I have requested a refund (just in time), hopefully they'll fix it quickly! I'll just stick to my current system for a while.
I have this issue. I expected that Amelia would be able to handle admin-created bookings. I need a work around or I will need to abandon Amelia and use an alternative.
I need the option to add event attendees from the back end and send them a payment link.
Hi Dear Team,
my WP Amelia does not create a Order to an appointment when i create one in the backend, it replaces the Payment link with this link, and DOES NOT create an WOO Order:

is this an AI based answer?

Hi Stefan,
thanks for the clarification and the excellent service! I will try this.
Thanks a lot.
Roland
Hi Stefan,
i activated it and checked if is active and it is.
But still there is no WOO-Order created when i am booking it at the Backend.
furthermore see the screenshot with the booking confirmation, that the payment link isnt generated, because no woo order is created.
Any other solution for that?
Thanks, Roland
