I am currently using Amelia to manage bookings for our guided backpacking trips and have encountered an issue regarding the collection of remaining balances after a deposit payment is made.
Here are the details of our current setup:
We offer an option for clients to pay a $500 deposit at checkout or pay the full amount upfront.
If the client opts for the $500 deposit, we need to collect the remaining balance before the trip start date.
Could you please provide guidance on the following:
Automated Balance Collection: Is there a built-in feature in Amelia to automatically charge the remaining balance before the event date? If so, how can we set this up?
Payment Scheduling: How can we schedule and automate reminders for clients to pay the remaining balance?
Third-Party Integration: Are there recommended integrations or plugins that work seamlessly with Amelia to handle deposit payments and automatically process the remaining balance?
Our goal is to ensure a smooth and hassle-free payment process for our clients, minimizing the need for manual intervention.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter. I look forward to your guidance.
Thanks for reaching out to us. While you can configure the deposit option, every time a customer chooses to pay a deposit in front, the rest of each payment will be always collected "on site". The deposit option only works for online payment methods and as you already noticed, a customer can either pay full price, or a certain amount (deposit). Unfortunatelly, currently, there are no other options regarding the deposit payment configuration, but please feel free to search through our feature suggestion page, to see if someone may have already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
Of course, for any additional questions or issues, feel free to reach out to us and we will kindly assist.
