Hi! I am trying to set up iDeal payments on a site. Ideally, this would go via Mollie. However, Mollie has, without even providing any reason, decided not to open an account for us. This is about a totally legit psychology practice, so it doesn't make any sense. Unfortunately, this seems to have gotten common practice for Mollie, if I may believe the comments I find when doing a Google search about this.
Anyway, because this psychology practice has Dutch customers as its target audience, we cannot really do without integrating iDeal into Amelia. So here is my question: What would be the easiest way to integrate iDeal as a payment method into the booking system, now that Mollie is not an option?
I know Stripe itself has access to iDeal, but your integration with Stripe doesn't (yet?) seem to support that part. We have access to ThriveCart ourselves, if that helps. Maybe the best way to go about this is through any of the other integrations Amelia has available, or then through ThriveCart?
I'm looking for the best (easiest and well working) idea here, as you or Amelia's developers surely have a better idea of how things work in Amelia than I do. And if you have or are willing to provide: some kind of documentation or explanation of how to do it would be most helpful!
Thank you very much in advance!
And also for you as a company integrating with Mollie, it might be useful to hear about their latest practices regarding the opening (and closing) of accounts.
At the moment, the only current avenue for integrating iDeal payments with Amelia is through WooCommerce. Given the importance of iDeal functionality for your psychology practice's Dutch clientele, this solution could provide the necessary payment flexibility. While other options like Mollie or Stripe have been explored, their limitations have led to dead ends. Integrating iDeal through WooCommerce might entail some setup and customization, but it offers a reliable pathway to cater to your specific payment needs. Should you require assistance with this integration, our support team can provide guidance or resources to facilitate the process. We understand the significance of having a seamless payment system in place and are committed to assisting you in finding the most suitable solution for your practice.
Thank you for your reply. If you have links to useful documentation on how to set this up in practice (iDeal through Woocommerce integration), that would help a lot. Thank you in advance!
Thank you, Uroš! I was able to set this up via WooCommerce & Stripe. If in the future you are considering to update your API connection with Stripe directly, adding iDeal into this would be highly appreciated! Can you please add this as a feature request? The workaround with WooCommerce is doable, but took a much longer time to set up, and it requires a client to go through the WooCommerce checkout page, which is not taking my branding, therefore making it a possible drop-out point.
