Licenses can be upgraded to higher tiers through our store, by clicking on the "Upgrade" button:
A new modal opens up where you can choose available upgrade plans:
Please note that the Lifetime purchases can't be upgraded to Subscription plans, so if you have a Pro Lifetime plan, you cannot upgrade to Developer Subscription. Also, depending on the license you currently have, different options will be offered in the modal.
What you should know about the upgrade:
The price that you will pay for the upgrade will be a pro-rated charge, meaning you won't be paying for the price difference between licenses, since we cannot refund the time spent on the license you currently have.
Example:
You bought a Basic Yearly license for Amelia, which costs $69 (roughly $0.19 per day).
After 100 days, you want to upgrade to 3-domain Pro Yearly, which costs $199 (roughly $0.55 per day).
Time remaining on Basic (what going to reduce the upgrade price): $50.35 (265 * 0.19)
Time spent on Basic: $55 (100 * 0.55)
Time remaining on Pro: $145.75 (265 * 0.55)
So, the price is not Pro - Basic (199-69=130), but instead a pro-rated charge, and you are going to be charged around $147.75 - $50.35 = $97.4.
If you're upgrading from a yearly subscription license to a yearly subscription license, it still renews on the same date (1 year after purchase) and your purchase code remains the same. This is basically why the prices are pro-rated.
I actually already bought the license - so currently I have a one year membership that is set to expire next month that is attached to my domain and I just got a lifetime membership that isn’t attached to anything.
I just want to make sure I don’t mess anything up when I port everything over to the lifetime membership.
So, if both licenses are bought on the same email, and if you log in to the TMS Store with that email, you should be able to see both licenses there. For the membership license(which will expire in one month) you want to make sure that the subscription is canceled (to avoid renewal).
Go to "My licenses", then find the license you need, hit the "three dots" at the top right,
and here you will see the "Cancel Subscription" button :
Then, since you already bought the lifetime one, you would need to activate it in Amelia by entering the purchase code that you've received in your email. In the easy process, you would need to go Amelia settings, Activation tab and you will find the option to enter the purchase code there. You will still see the information that the code is hidden, but this is because you already have a standard license activated. On the bottom, there is an option to deactivate the license, and then enter the lifetime purchase code.
I’m (probably unnecessarily) worried I’m going to lose all my current content when I try to switch over the license. I should have upgraded my current Amelia plugin but instead I foolishly bought another one.
Can we somehow upgrade the one I already have in use? Or is there an easy way to transfer the data from my plugin that expires in a few weeks to my new lifetime plugin? In case it isn’t clear, the lifetime plugin is for the domain I’m currently using the one year plugin for.
Sorry for being a pain and thanks for your patience. I see y’all are currently on holiday, so I hope you’re having an awesome time.
No data will be lost (unless if you check that you want to delete data), even when you reinstall the license. There is an option in Activation settings ("delete Amelia content"), you want to make sure that this slider is disabled, and you are good to go. There is nothing wrong with purchasing a new license, you can easily install that one and use it instead of the previous one. But, of course, if you still want to upgrade the existing (current) license, you can do that though a TMS store account.
I had a one year subscription to Amelia and I bought a lifetime license. I love the plugin.
I don’t want to lose any data or mess anything up. How do I switch my domain over from the annual subscription to the lifetime one?
