I'm curious in purchasing this addition to the plugin. I see that you can have a separate page open up when you click the details and customize the page template that populates with the fields from the database.
Is it possible to edit these fields from this page template? I want to allow users to edit the entries on the front end but the data contains a lot of fields. So, for them to scroll down a vertical list is not the most user friendly method at the moment. I'm curious if you click details on a row if it opens the page in which the user could double click any of the entries in the template and the records save to the database when they submit the changes?
Or does this only view the existing data and not allow editing?
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

But what you described in terms of the issue for our 'default Editing modal' if you have a lot of columns to scroll through, etc, there can be a solution.
Did you try our in-line Editor Tool?
Editing tables in a pop-up dialog is in most cases easy and intuitive; but not in all cases.
For some tables, for example, those that may have more than 10 columns, or for some user scenarios where you need to edit only one field, inline editing is intuitive and easy; so, this inline-editing feature exists in wpDataTables as well.

Hello,
At the moment, it is not possible to do any editing on the Master Details Template Page, or in the PopUp.
Right now, as we pointed out in this Documentation,
if you visit this custom page directly, placeholders will be replaced with empty strings,
so data will be populated only when you access this page from our table by clicking on Row or Button, depending on your configuration.

If you wish to see editing possible from the Master-Details 'more details' section ( whether that is as a PopUp or on the Template Page);
you can make a future development suggestion, but to be honest, I can't say if that will ever be possible, realistically.
Please feel free to search on our suggestions page,
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.

Let me know if that helps.
