Hey there, this is the 4th appointment plugin I bought so far.

This is a critical feature that I thought it should be there default.

    Search Customer by Phone Number

On appointment booking on employee panel or on the backend whenever a customer search filed is show, we should be able to search by phone. It is critical since the names of the booking customer on the phone is harder to get, (wrong spelling and such ) so checking the phone number is the guaranteed way to book in ease.

    Also when searched if we cab see the dropdown with;

    • Customer Full NameCustomer Phone number

like for each customer on the suggested dropdown:

    • Oz Coruhlu
    • 202 555 5555

Can you please make sure this is added (I would like to see this soon, so I have checked the feature request page and similar requests been here for a year)

Is there a way to enable this on my end even in temp solutions?

    Thank you.

    Hello Oz.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I agree that filtering per phone number would be a beneficial feature to have, especially for ensuring appointment accuracy.  However, it's worth noting that there can be typos in the phone number entry as well. There's still no 2FA option for phone numbers or email addresses in Amelia and although we will work on that in the future, there's no ETA on it, so human error can still occur with every field they can populate in the form.

Including the phone number in the search logic of the "Customers" section should not be a difficult task, so I'm sure our developers can fix it real quickly. I'll get back to you as soon as I hear from them.

They are about to release new, redesigned panels and once that's done, they'll start working on redesigning the back-end of Amelia, implementing not only visual but structural changes as well. We'll improve the code, add new filters and options, and so on.

Regarding the drop-down - I'll forward it as a suggestion, so it can be taken into consideration for future development, but I'd also like to ask if you can provide us with more details about how you imagined this. If you have a screenshot from another tool that would indicate the appearance of that drop-down, that'd be helpful.

    Thank you in advance!

    Kind Regards,

    Aleksandar Vuković

    Hi again Oz.

As I anticipated, including the phone number in the search option of the "Customize" section wasn't a difficult task. Our developers sent me a fix that will also be applied in the next update.

Please download the attached file and extract the file into /wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/src/Infrastructure/Repository/User/ folder. The file "CustomerRepository.php" needs to overwrite the current file.

Once that's done, you should be able to search for phone numbers straight away, but if it doesn't work try purging the cache on your website.

Thank you so much Aleksandar. The file worked. Here is a mockup for the dropdown on auto complete. I would love to see the listing populates with the name, phone, email. Or, toggles on the setting section that will enable phone to be displayed or email, perhaps if both are too much on every customer select dropdown, then user can set what field they need to see under names. Also this look should be unified on not only the new appointment panel but the appointment listing and other areas where there is a customer selection.

Typos on names are way common on the client shop.  This gives us to opportunity to make sure the person calling can be found without asking their name by just typing the number we have on the screen when we receive.

I have installed and deleted 4 plugins already. We had a custom built platform we are currently on does everything we need in the way we have been using so the switch from that is a bit scary so I am trying to find a one does take care of most of the features we need.

I am excited to see the new updates. I hope some drag/drop calendar feature is comming. I have also checked your stand alone product (it is great but too much for us), how ever they are so cool features I would like to see on the plugin for sure.

If there is any list for beta testers I would be happy to help out btw.

Thank you again for the quick response.

    Hi again Oz.

Duly noted, I'll forward your feedback to our developers.

From what I can see, the fix already allows you to search through the Appointments section using the phone number:

And it also works when adding a new appointment:

    3876374418.png

So, from what I understand, the dropdown you've mentioned should simply display the phone number along with the email in the "New Appointment" section, when searching for a customer.

Since the search seems to be working everywhere now, I just want to confirm with you that what you're suggesting is that we simply modify the existing dropdown. If that's correct, I'll simply pass it to our developers so they can include it in the redesign, but if I missed something, please let me know.

    Thanks Oz.

I forwarded the video to our management and our developers for review. I hope they'll find it useful and that they'll be able to implement something similar in the future.

I can't promise anything at this time, but since we're redesigning everything in the near future, if there's a way to easily implement this, I believe it'll be added.
