Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

Addresses from CVS to MAPS overview

    Hi there,

I see a lot of features that we can use for our project, which is nice. But we also want the following if this is possible:

For a project to find the best school that mathes the users interests.

    - Users can filter on address (or a range of, say 10Km) nearby their home-address. The outcome can be a max. of 10 schools displayed on a map (Googlemaps?) - or does it have to be a list? With the nearest result at the top - and the best result highlighted.

I saw we can add multiple datasources, right? So we can add multiple school details like our own details (in a CSV), quality-score, number of students and kind of education, etc.

Is this also possible with your plugin?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,

    Hi Jay van Stuijvenberg,

We don't have any integration with the Google Maps for our Tables, so all this data would need to be in your Table in order to do a filter, such as you described, something like a range of distance.

But, there can be an issue/limitation with this, depending on what kind of data you are working with.

For example, if you insert some Adresses in a String Column- our Plugin is not capable of knowing what is the distance between Adress 1 and Adress B and to compare that with a 'home adress' which a user would insert for a 'search'.

If you plan to use something like a Numeric Range Filter - in our Plugin, you will need pure numeric data. ( integer or Float)

You can see our example and the explanation how our Number Range filter works here.

You can also use a Number Slider on the Number range filter.

But, as mentioned above - this can only work with numeric data.

    There will be no way to add a filter which will take one Adress ( home adress from a user) and calculate the distance to another ( one or more) address;

or for example, to set a 'current position on a map' and to have a filter say "show 10 closest adresses from this position on the map".

    -

I will only check with our QA Team if there is possibly a way to present the Schools on a Google Text GeoChart, if it can possibly be used to show addresses for this type of Use-case, but I think we won't have an ideal solution for it at this time.

As soon as we double-check if there is any workaround, I will report back on that subject.

    2. When it comes to having multiple datasources :

One Table can not have multiple CSV's linked to it - if that is what you meant.

But you can link one CSV file to one Table.

Basically, there are two ways how you can use CSV with our tables :

    1. Create a table linked to CSV.

    -

If you choose file location "from WordPress Library" ( default) :

    2675185538.png

Linked CSV files are stored in wp-content/uploads/YEAR/MONTH/ folder, and you would need to replace the file in there, not making any changes to the filename or its structure, so only the data within the cells needs to be changed or updated.

    -

If you choose file location as "URL from any domain" Creating a table linked to a CSV file by providing its URL is pretty much the same as it is for creating a table by uploading a CSV file. The only difference is that you would choose the URL from any domain option instead of the WordPress Media Library option under File location when creating the table.

    2. If you import the file, the plugin reads the source file and creates a manual table

Once the table is created, it is no longer linked to the source file, so changing data in the table will not show up in Excel or Google Spreadsheet, and vice-versa.

To modify this table, you can either switch to the Excel-like view

and then select and copy the range of cells you want to paste from the source file, and paste it in the Excel-like view,

or you can import a new/edited CSV to update the table, as well, in the following ways :

    3. Adding details such as quality-score, number of students and kind of education, etc. :

Yes, you should be able to easily insert data like that in a CSV, and then use this for the Columns in a linked or imported table.

And i just wanted to point out that you can try wpDataTables before purchasing

on our sandbox Demo sites ( you can find links for the main plugin Demo,

as well as add-on Demos, in my signature),

and there is a 15-day money-back guarantee period,

so if you purchase the plugin, you can safely fully test it out, and if it doesn't fit your needs you can request and receive a refund in that period. ( same goes for all plugins and add-ons)

Let me know if you have any additional questions. smile.png

    Hi Jay van Stuijvenberg,

Just a follow-up on that second point, as an 'alternate workaround' I wanted to try.

    Sorry to disappoint you once again, but at the moment we don't have any way to have the functionality similar to Google Maps and to be able to add specific adresses, then to search 'inside a radius' of the user's Adress which they would input as you described;

we also don't have a way to present data like that on Charts at the moment, too.

If you wish to see something like that in the future,

Please feel free to search on our suggestions page

to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there,  and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.

    You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;

and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

    2. But when it comes to making Tables and Charts for the School and/or student details, you can easily do that; there can be multiple table types available, depending on what is the best for your use case.

For using CSV, please refer to my previous response in more details.

Let us know if you have any additional questions about that.

    Thanks.
